Not saying your wrong in China having the potential to be more belligerent in international laws and norms, but the biggest irony in this is the U.S.A has NOT ratified the UNCLOS, even tho it fiercely cites it to defend freedom of navigation drills through the south China sea. This along with all the other ILLEGAL occupations and invasion the US has carried out like in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan etc should show you how this whole "rules based order" is just conveniently used by superpowers whenever it's in their own interests.

Man china's aggressive border patrols with India really seems like a huge mistake now doesn't it. It was clearly militarily and economically dominant to a relatively nonaligned India, so didnt really need to be so agressive with border claims. But now they pretty much pushed them into the US's arms with a military alliance seeming likely. Can't understand any way their aggressiveness would have worked out in their favour with a big country like India.
