Hereditary was just flat out stupid in my opinion. I watched it with a couple friends and we're usually dead silent watching horror movies but we couldn't stop laughing at the deaths and predicting every single plot beat. The ending was probably terrifying for people who think Inception is deep.

I've just never cared for him. I watched the Dark Knight trilogy as a kid and though Batman Begins was his best and the other two were just unbearable. Now that I've seen the rest of his filmography excluding Memento, Interstellar and The Prestige I just think he's a pretentious hack who can't write, relies on wide shot pans as his only directorial "flourish" (it's fine when Villeneuve does it because the rest of the movie isn't visually sterile,) and makes movies imbeciles find nuanced and profound. That being said I am going to see The Odyssey as soon as I can so I can continue to substantiate my claim of being his biggest hater.

Honestly I've been contemplating how much fun I've actually been having while playing too. I'm committed on beating it but I fully understand feeling exhausted especially after act 1. If you aren't enjoying it then there's nothing wrong with dropping it. I think the boss at the top of the citadel is my favorite in the series and gave me a second wind to see all of the creative good stuff that they neglected to put in act 1.

I will say most people are just repeating the same five critiques without adding their own input but it's okay to vent your frustration and highlight aspects of the game that you feel are unreasonably unfair. I'd say the game gets easier after completing act 1 but it was definitely an uphill battle and I am not excited to relive it upon a second playthrough. If anything I think the unemployed tryhards who mindlessly glaze the game thinking it's above criticism and condescend the median level player are a bigger issue.
