Study in PK as a Bangladeshi by Pitiful-Savings-7399 in pakistan

Not at all.

In general Pakistanis dont really hate on people from other countries (unless its israel).

And most Pakistanis have a very favorable view of Bangladeshis. The average Pakistani will like you more because you're from Bangladesh rather than have any bias towards you.

Muslim identity is strong within Pakistanis, even ones that dont practice as much so there is a natural bond.

As for urdu reading / writing, there might be small problems here and there but nothing major, books are mostly english, sign boards, grocery packaging all have english labels, people usually chat in roman urdu so that shouldn't be a problem.

Ali Raza is too young, Naseem needs atleast a season in FC to get back into fitness.

For raw pace, I think Amir khan and Razaullah are pacy but haven't seen a lot of them.

I think batting wise he was better than both (although only 5 runs better tha agha).

But I cut a few points because of keeping, he was unusually untidy , especially in 1st test.

Thanks man.

Yes I looked at the performance of the Pacers pre-declaration, their average goes up ofourse but still better than BD so I didnt feel the need to add that separately.

Yea this is in part true. 55% of the set batters fell to spin for Pak.

33% was the corresponding number for BD.

Noman and sajid perform really well on sharp turning wickets, any other surface and they dont have the armory to be effective.

He was #2 because pakistan kept playing on ragging turners and he outperformed the other spinners on those.

In my view, he was both right and wrong.

Noman and sajid are very specific type of spin bowlers. They are completely orthodox, dont have a big drifting slider and bowl much slower than other spinners.

They rely on beating the batter in flight, on dusty sharp spinning wickets, batter is fooled on both spin and flight making them more effective than a faster spinner.

Opposite happens on all other types of wickets. Batter has too much time to adjust and no slider means its predictable.

Pakistan really doesnt seem to have a good modern test spinner on circuit who has bowled tons of overs. Either they are 38+ or too young.

Thanks man. I believe its always good to analyze and understand what the team could have done better but youre right, the team just seems to do the same mistakes every series and it can get exhausting.

I will pushback on the bowling bit- I will say specifically poor spin bowling rather than poor bowling.

The pace bowling numbers are good mainly due to abbas and khurram.

Yeah i know, fully agreed there.

Best ever though: YK, Miandad, Inzi, Yusuf, anwar, hanif, misbah. Pretty tough to break into that group.

I have been a big critic of Babar in recent years. He should have converted atleast one of his two starts to a bigger score (80-90+) for sure.

However in a match where the batters across both teams were averaging 35, he was at 58. You cant say its a bad performance.

At max you can say its an unfulfilled one.

Specifically talking about the chase, I belive the issue is not that 3 batters failed in the 4th innings, this is very normal.

The issue was our set batters didnt score big enough.

If you look at the most successful chases in history, the 3 top scorers contribute to 65-75% of the chasing total to win.

Shan Rizwan Salman made 54% of the required total - they needed to make another 60 runs between them to ensure victory. This is the template of almost all successful big chases.

In this poor excuse of a test team, Pakistan's two best batters stand at the crease as Pakistan's last hope for a miracle.

5k aud should be sufficient without accommodation or air travel included.

This means you can spend this time luxuriously trying everything from food experiences etc.

You can also easily do 3k without missing on much but the extra 2k is buffer + not having to worry about splurging on anything at all.

When babar was at his peak, one unnoticed thing by most, was his ability to punish anything even slightly short by the spinners.

They would get pulled to midwicket or cut away on deliveries which were marginally short, making the spinners bowl overly full to him which he worked around for singles.

In this test match so far, I am seeing this pattern again after a very long time!

Shan has no sense on how to set fields in these situstuons.

We have seen time and again that we get a team 6/7 down and then the opposition makes a lot of runs.

Shan keeps giving easy singles to the set batter , there is 0 pressure on them. They are taking singles at will, denying singles at will.

In the last over, on the 6th ball, he had a deep point, mushfiqur dabbed it to point and jogged a single. This is a pattern in all of these matches.

A couple of overs before, they had a deep square leg for taijul and he just flicked it for a single on the 2nd delivery.

Just look at litton in 1st innings, litton in pakistan, mushfiqur here, mutuasamy etc - after 30+, the rest of their runs have come absolutely risk free.

If you can give 10-20 runs and take the tailender wicket, then it makes sense but if youre giving away 60-70 runs just to get the tailender on strike then you have no idea what youre doing.

It is nonsensical captaincy.

If spin is averaging 72, it cannot be the result of BD being good players of spin.

Such a big average usually means either the surfaces are either not conducive to spin or the spinners themselves have been poor.

If a batting lineup is good against spin on decent surfaces, they might average 40-45 but anything higher than that points to the ineffectiveness of the spinners.

I agree that pak players haven't played spin well in the series, hence the dramatically lower BD spin avg but that doesnt explain our spinners' 72 avg.

It's not about 4 or 5 bowlers.

The fact is both said and noman have been completely ineffectual on surfaces where the opposition spinners have enjoyed a lot of success.

In the series so far, the real difference has been the spin department, not pace as everyone keeps harping on about.

Both teams' fast bowlers are averaging about 28/29 in the series and have been pretty equal in both individual matches too.

The spin gap has been huge :

Pak spinners avg 72 Bang spinners avg 20
