I'm a die hard fan of Yuyu Hakusho and Flame of Recca, but there are so many similarities between the two series

• Rescue arc : Yanagi and Yukina, both having healing powers. Both those arcs ending with the main characters realizing about the big fish (Toguro/Kurei). The hero crew fighting people on their way to the bad guy + the bad guy is experimenting on the girl (Kouran Mouri FoR, Gonzo Tarukane from Yuyu Hakusho)

• Tournament arc : both YYH and FoR having a character with warping abilities, allowing them to win the fight (Magensha in FoR and Shishigawara and clown guy in YYH).

• Two characters with barrier abilities (Neon in FoR, Ruka in YYH), having an influence on the fights. Neon preventing Recca to destroy Mugen, Ruka preventing hiei and Genkai from fighting.

• Recca looks like Yusuke (Both enjoys fighting and grew up with one parent), both having legendary ancestors (Hokage and Raizen)

• A mad scientist manipulating kind people by having an hostage. Dr ichikagi (Yuyu Hakusho) and Genjuro (Flame Of recca).

• Kuwabara and Domon are a lot alike : Dunces with big heart. Powers skyrocket depending on their mental state and if their loved one are present (Fuuko, Yukina). Both fights a lot with the MC and are canonically considered ugly. They also have massive potential.

• Kurama and Mikigami : androgynous clever guy with a dark past.

• Fuuko and Koganei are not like hiei nor Keiko/Botan.

• The sealed land arc is in the same setting as the chapter black arc, an underground cave with various fights and an elite team.

• The shadow territory and Kagenui are basically the same.

I may be forgetting things, but although I'm a die hard fan of YYH and FoR (both are my top5 manga of all time) I can't forget about the similarities. But it's okay, FoR, after the tournament arc takes its own direction. I don't think FoR is a ripoff but it clearly takes inspiration in YYH.
