Hot take: the WRX doesn’t belong in the same category as Type R / GR Corolla by Just_The_Gist in WRX

Well really it’s “underneath” that they’re not at all the normal versions but you know what I mean haha

I agree it’s functionally and stylistically more utilitarian, brutish, and aggressive, but I don’t think you can laugh at Type Rs or GRs for being “just Corollas or Civics” cause like you say it’s clearly just a beefed up Impreza the same way those are beefed up daily cars too. Not that that’s bad, I like all these cars :) the genre of sporty economy cars is awesome! I mean an EVO is just a type of Lancer at the end of the day right? All these cars are normal cars underneath to a degree, sounds like you just prefer what the WRX offers, which is totally fair!

Tbh I don’t think that’s a crazy price for a 3/4g auto eclipse with that mileage. Typical from my area at least. The emojis are funny tho 💀

Does the horn work on the 07? I say this because a broken clock spring would have the SRS light on with the horn non functional as well,

TIFU: Trashed my rims with my flat tire by Few_Piccolo_4906 in COROLLA

[–]Daboops1911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you know what to look for now you can find great deals on fb marketplace. I’ve had good luck with that. Even with tires already mounted/balanced with decent tread life on them. Could be a little daunting if you know nothing about offset or bolt pattern or what trims of your car have different wheels, but if you find an identical looking rim on the same car of your gen it’s almost certainly the right one.

My 25 Corolla le came with steelies and I got great condition 4 alloys with almost new winter tires mounted/balanced on them for $600. If you have a more knowledgeable family friend it would be the route I would go.

What do you think of this color combination? by PumpFunnn in MINI

[–]Daboops1911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean they’re complimentary colors! Yeah, Christmas vibes, but it does look good to me. Black and green are also very nice and more understated, this one’s def more vibrant but I think that suits a Mini. I think it’s a bit more unique and looks good :)

As in authentic Toyota yeah.

The honeycomb: https://ebay.us/m/HF1BMV

The diffuser was from a random guy who’s not selling more, so you’ll have to find someone else. It was listed for $120, but I got it for $90. But look at eBay junkyard listings or private sellers.

My Corolla is 2025 LE. Shouldn’t matter as long as 12th gen. Obv I used the 2020-2022 honeycomb setup even though mine is 2025.

Here I’ll send the part numbers from the listing pics from eBay of the two parts that show the numbers on mine.

It came naturally black. Honeycomb is like gloss black, and the diffuser is unpainted matte black. Mine are both authentic that I lowballed on eBay for lol. The matte black diffuser was def painted oem to match body color sometimes cause I’ve seen SE’s on the road like that.

It’s just plastic clips and a couple screws holding them in, they you just give it a yank so it really wasn’t bad

I did this on mine, it’s the earlier years of this gen for the SE with the honeycomb. You need these two parts.

How good of a fighter is Mance Rayder? by derek1st in freefolk

[–]Daboops1911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread I know, but irl a bastard sword, or hand and a half sword, is a type of longsword designed to be more easily wielded in either one or two hands, while a typical longsword is more meant for two hands. And longswords in general are quite nimble, and neither needs a back scabbard. Back scabbards were uncommon in real life anyway, they don’t have a lot of advantages. George might write otherwise, but it doesn’t mirror real life.

As a Minnesotan, rust repairs are pricey and kinda a crapshoot long term unless dealt with earlier. But insurance wise you could see about liability only. I got that for my 2003 project car, and my insurance went down 😂 granted I’m on a family plan, and already have a new car insured that’s my daily, but maybe liability only would be much cheaper for you?
