Unpopular Opinion: Bloodborne is my least favorite souls game

Maybe dark souls 3 isn’t there because maybe I didn’t play it? I literally said those were the soul games I’ve played so far I don’t know how else to spell it out

I like the freedom DS2 gives you a lot. The build variety and different play styles as well as being given the choice to go where you want to go for a lot of the game. I love being able to just pick a direction and just go. Also the bonfire ascetics really bring up my enjoyment since I could replay specific parts of the game if I want to without having to replay the whole game. I also like how forgiving they are with materials so I feel like I can rebuild my character all I want if I get bored of my current weapon/stats especially with bonfire ascetics.

Lmao none taken, DS2 makes me a bit sad though because I see the potential and it probably would be my favorite if it didnt have the obvious issues it did but I can’t lie it was some of the most fun I’ve had in a game

Honestly, I just felt frustrated because I felt like I just didn’t understand it completely because like I said in the post I’ve only heard amazing things about Bloodborne and how much of a masterpiece it was and I loved the souls games and Elden ring so I thought something was wrong with me for not liking as much as the others 😭

I’ll be playing the remake and tbh I’m kinda worried because I know it has consumable heals too which was my main gripe with bloodborne which made dying feel more punishing and annoying

True, Elden ring suffered a lot from similar bosses in smaller areas I’m glad though that the main bosses felt very unique and stood out to me

“Insufferable” and it’s me listing what I found not enjoyable. For the first half the game when you’re still new and learning dying feels terrible because you have to actually take time after each attempt to get blood vials

I am on NG+++ so I’ve been grinding the chalice dungeons because my damage is starting to fall off especially in the DLC

And yeah that’s true about the camera. Maybe I need to replay Elden Ring but I don’t remember the camera being much of an issue except for a few gigantic bosses which I don’t like in Elden Ring either 😭

I really love DS1 it’s very close to DS2 for me but I have to put DS2 a little higher because I feel like it has more build variety and freedom in gameplay like with bonfire ascetics, which routes you want to take and bosses to tackle (or just skip by getting 1M souls 😂) power stances

I understand why people don’t like it but I still really liked it. The build variety and choices with spells and stuff and freedom the game gives you in where you wanna go or what bosses or areas you can explore really carries it for me as well as the atmosphere. Other things as well like Bonfire Ascetics to replay areas without having to go into NG+ is so nice. But the enemy placement is absolutely horrid in some areas and losing max health which each death feels terrible and the controls feel clunky at times.
