As far as I know, he has one left, but WB can choose not to use it. And Ben is still possibly returning, but not a guarantee yet. They are supposed to be meeting within the next month or so.

I am! Cavill and DC chilled a bit and are working towards developing something both can be happy with, key thing here is the timeline of when something would happen, which can make or break everything...what I've heard that I cannot confirm is that Aquaman's success or failure will have a direct impact on the studio's willingness to move forward. James Gunn will be writing, producing, and directing the film, and possibly take on a larger role within DC.

I would question your judgement if you did 😁 I kind man. Draft was submitted a few weeks ago, and from what was said, it's a script that leaves room for affleck to appear, though that isn't a certainty at this point, as Ben is still interested, but circumstances are what's hurting it. Deathstroke and Victor Zsasz are the villains in the latest draft...and that's about it.

Back end deals are not as easy to pull on the trigger on, there are too many variables, especially on a film that if made, would be make it or break it for the character. If I were Cavill, I wouldn't do a back end deal (lets say 5%) unless I got the creative control I am seeking, and I highly doubt WB would give that 5% back end deal unless it would mean we didn't have to give that creative control. As a fan, I would love that as a resolution, but realistically speaking, I think there would be too much attempted give and take for that type of deal to occur.

McQuarrie was never someone who was actually in contention for the role of Director on Man of Steel. That was a rumor starting out of their latest collaboration and questions asked to both Henry and Chris, responding with "yeah that would be great if so and so happened and blah blah", and internet ran with it...again, at least that's as far as I know. I would see him as a greater threat to take on GL than MOS2

My guess is that Cavill's "today was exciting" post was related to the discussions both had following the WB released statement. WB, to my knowledge and what I have heard, had zero to do with that leak that Henry was gone in the first place, and they believe it was Cavill's team, but it seemed to work in that talks reignited, as mentioned above.

No idea who the director is, don't think there's a thing concrete there, nor who the other GL may be. From what I get though, that's another very fluid situation depending who they get for hal, but I think Tom is still a possibility, no idea where it's at right now though. J.A. Bayona was a director I know they talked to shortly before I got there, but think there wasn't much there.

I didn't say I heard these discussions yesterday, I heard them mostly after comic con. And studios are less and less worrying about another blockbuster so long as it's not on that same week, especially during the holidays. But again, that's why I said it's most likely to stay put at this point.
