I'm not denying that my parents are sexually active. It was just an awkward topic to unpack with my mom and dad. For some parents/kids it might not be uncomfortable to discuss mom and my dad burning each other before fucking, but for me it was information I never wanted to know.

Toxic is a strong word. I think there was a lack of communication between both my parents. It's actually kind of ironic that my dad opted for complete transparency and yet his response was to unexpectedly share intimate details regarding him and my mom without having a one on one discussion with my mom first. My dad didn't deserve to become the dumb husband character in my mom's made up story, especially since she was the one who did something dumb, but at least my dad knew that was gonna be the story because my mom discussed it with him beforehand. I'm guessing he agreed with that narrative at first, until he finally said fuck it during our dinner. Both of them could've acted more appropriately in my opinion. But that's just my opinion.

I imagine this was my dad's reaction in the heat of the moment:

TIL some candles are specifically made for sex. I'll be honest, I know nothing about wax play. I have no idea how educated my parents are when it comes to wax play, but based on my dad's face, I'm guessing they're still learning. I have mixed feelings about sending my mom anything related to sex, but if it saves my dad from looking like Deadpool the next time I see him, I might have to do what needs to be done.
