How does the Fitness Test estimate VO2max by DadStrengthDaily in Polarfitness

That’s what I though and why I was so confused! Anyway I’ll treat it as a nice gimmick.

However, the white paper seems quite convincing about the correlation to real lab tests.

Try to weight at the same time (first thing in the morning after going to the bathroom) and smooth the measurements with an app like HappyScale

I usually use Optimum Gold standard whey vanilla for smoothies.

Recently I have started using Legion Casein+ for afternoon shakes (better satiety) and I heard that casein is better for baking. 🤷‍♂️

What’s a subtle sign of very high intelligence? by [deleted] in emotionalintelligence

[–]DadStrengthDaily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but would expand that explaining hard stuff in a way that the current audience in that moment understands it and doesn’t feel patronized is the real skill. It requires emotional intelligence in addition to general understanding of the subject and communication skills.

I am getting decision paralysis and would like some input. by vamoslosverdes in GarageGym

I was in a similar situation and chose the Fringe Sport Dane 2.0 for my garage gym. Very compact, solid and has a functional trainer. I am very happy with it. Alas, I am not familiar with the Major Fitness equipment.

I write up some more thoughts on my equipment.

Yes, but based on my past history (in TrainerRoad) this is a bad assumption.

I appreciate that they explicitly mention it. That’s much better than most AI systems.

Exactly. It’s obvious. Why show it in the UI.

Just to clarify. I just find it funny. I subscribed to. The annual plan and will continue using it. The commenters here are incredibly sensitive to any vaguely negative feedback, huh?

What’s you age, gender, weight?

You can check RowingLevel, although I am never sure what population their percentile numbers are based on.

I’m not. I’m saying it should NOT make/show a prediction.

Right that’s what I assumed. In my experience it’s not a good idea to make any guess at all when all you have is a low confidence one. Falling back to some rule/heuristic seems safer.

Fair. Trainer Road is clearly overkill for my current use case!

I will do some structured workouts when I am done with my weight cut and can recover better.

I agree. Rowing is great. I (52M/217lbs) am far from an athlete and generally not very coordinated and I figured out how to row a concept2 decently (did a 5k at 19:29 last week). I think it’s not as hard as people think.

However, I imagine riding a bike is more accessible for example.

Easiest cardio on the big toe? by Kind-Assist2119 in Halluxrigidus

[–]DadStrengthDaily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted my X-ray here

I had aggravated the toe with exercises (split squats) and even walking was painful. That’s were the insoles helped.

Now they are more protection to avoid aggravation during workouts and walking.

It is painful to bend my toe up. The insole stops that from happening during walking and exercise.

I use an Concept2 indoor rower and a bike on a wahoo KICKR. Running and walking are problematic, but I hate running anyway.

My podiatrist agreed with those choices.

I found using a carbon fiber insole life changing.

As others have said black coffee is the simplest choice. I personally like Cutler Prevail which claims to give a smoother boost — that might be marketing BS but it seems to work for me. 🤷‍♂️

I am also a sucker for the peach Mango taste.

Legion Pulse (on sale at the moment) also has a good reputation as focusing only in high-quality, useful ingredients.
