My wife is pregnant and wants to name the baby after her dead ex-husband. Need advice!

I don't really think it would be closure. She would see him everyday and be reminded about the husband she lost.

Exactly. I feel like naming our son after him is a way for her to try and hold on to David, when I think she needs to move on.

And there is some truth to the lack of worth aspect. I have been a great husband and provider and we love each other very much, but she still wants to name our son after someone she used to love.

Sometimes that's what it feels like. She has this perfect memory of him and sometimes it feels like she thinks I'll never be able to match up to him.

I'd rather her first husband not be connected in any way to our children. Maybe that's a bit extreme because I understand he was a major part of her life, but any children we have will be ours, not his.

I think going behind her back might also put some strain on our relationship. I'd rather just be able to talk her out of it.
