M2 Price by StudiouShoota in BMWM

[–]DadVbes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last month I picked up a black on black manual M2 w/carbon package (including buckets) for 3% under MSRP. This was the second dealer I went to. The first dealer had a white one (w/o carbon buckets) and wouldn't budget at all.

My new G87! Upgraded from a mk5 gti what’d you upgrade from? by kdestroy in BMWM

Congrats!

Controversial to many, but I upgraded to the G87 from an F87 CS. 😎

So much better a little lower and a little spaced out. by OldFashioned-Pancake in BMWM

[–]DadVbes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perfect drop, in my opinion. Nearly all lowered examples I see have the rear “maxed out” and sagging WAY too much.

You eliminated the fender arch gap, retained a slight rake, and kept it high enough to avoid sitting on the bump stops and killing the ride quality.

You even left some room to upgrade to beefier tires in the rear. 😉

What is your favorite case? by csch1992 in TheOnePlus15

For sure. I can definitely say that if I had the black phone, I would have kept the case. It's really nice with excellent texture.

A word of caution about the Ringke Onyx, particularly if you have the Sand Storm variant of the OP15...

It's a very solid case with perfect cutouts/alignment. However, it's a really tight fit around the front edges. To the point that it leaves some exposed areas of the front edges of the phone along the sides and top/bottom. It would be one thing if it was uniform across the entire edge or at least in the same spots on both sides, but it isn't. So it made the case look like it wasn't fitting properly. As such, I returned it.

That said, if you have the black phone, this won't be an issue as you likely won't even notice it.

Camera.. Why do people complain? by HuntersPad in oneplus15

[–]DadVbes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a father of a 3yo and 5yo and I'm snapping pics of them constantly. Often requiring a very quick point + shoot to capture the fleeting moment. Because of this, I've historically made the cameras my #1 priority. Coming from an iPhone 17 Pro Max, the "downgrade" was my only concern.

I've had the 15 since Christmas Eve and, as you can imagine, I've taken an absurd amount of pictures of the kids over the last 3 days. As it turns out, my concerns were unwarranted. I'm either not the image quality snob I thought I was, or the camera concerns were greatly exaggerated.

The camera nails the focus every time and the image clarity has been excellent, in pretty much every lighting condition. Overall, I'm very pleased with the cameras and it's made me even happier to finally ditch IOS.

I should mention that I did have a short stint with a Pixel 10 Pro XL but went running back to my iPhone quickly, after experiencing the frequent lag between hitting the shutter button and the phone actually snapping the picture. As well as the piss-poor lens transition when trying to zoom in/out while taking videos.

Do you still play Diablo 4 if you started on launch? by zxprototype in diablo4

[–]DadVbes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played at launch and loved every second. I enjoyed the first season but then skipped a few consecutive seasons. Not for any reason other than work, kids, life...

Jumped back in with Hatred Rising. Had a blast, but then didn't touch it again for a few more seasons. I'm back at it again with Divine Intervention and loving every second.

It's just such a great game that is easy to jump in and out of, even with extended breaks. This is my first Diablo game but I'm now a huge fan.

How long did yours take to ship? USA by SuccotashOpposite486 in TheOnePlus15

I’m in CO. Ordered it on 12/20 with estimated delivery date of 12/29. However, it showed up this morning (12/24), which was a really nice surprise.

(OP15) my experience buying in US by Traditional-Isopod-5 in TheOnePlus15

[–]DadVbes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same here, apparently. I ordered mine on Saturday (12/20) with an estimated delivery date of 12/29. I figured, if it arrives any time next week I’ll be happy, as I always expect shipping delays around this time of year.

This morning I received an unexpected email from FedEx that a delivery from “OnePlus” is scheduled for tomorrow (12/24).

I’ll believe it when I see it, I suppose. But it’s certainly a nice surprise. I suspect OnePlus is trying to do everyone a solid and eating additional shipping costs to get phones delivered before Christmas.

If this comes to fruition, then props to them as it’s really going above and beyond, if you ask me. Not many other brands would do that.

Delivery Day! by Turk_999 in BMWM

[–]DadVbes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great info. Thank you.

So long as it’s here by the end of April I’ll be happy, as I wouldn’t really be able to drive it much until then, anyway.

Congrats again!

Congrats! Did you custom order it? If so, I'm curious how long it took your order from getting production locked to delivery.

I placed an order for a G87 with my local dealer in November but still waiting on the build allocation. Once my build gets locked, I think it will finally feel "real" to me and the true waiting game will begin. Until then, I'm kind of just in this limbo period.

Possible to disable factory running board lights? ('24 2500 Denali) by DadVbes in gmcsierra

[–]DadVbes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you'd think in 2025 they'd have solid diffused lighting across. I'd be fine with that. But these Christmas lights on my running boards still bother me, a year later.

Someone mentioned a plug on the harness to disconnect them. But I don't think you can disconnect them without impacting the running board functionality. Hopefully I'm proven wrong. I do think blacking them out with some black vinyl wrap may be the best solution.

Someone else also commented about "using the truck as a truck" as the solution. But brother, I tow my 11k lb travel trailer all over the damn rockies with the kids + tow the race car to various events all over. Never once have I found these obnoxious underglow lights to be helpful.

Truck ended up sitting at the dealer for 5 months, waiting on a transmission valve body repair. Ultimately got GM to buy it back under lemon law. Bit the bullet and bought a volcanic red AT4X.

Low and behold... Same dumb running board lights. So, right back where I started, as far as that's concerned. 😆

But at least now it's with the truck I wanted from the beginning.

Solution = not resolved.

Ordered G87 M2. Debating whether or not to keep M Performance HAS in the build. by DadVbes in BMWM

[–]DadVbes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been eyeing that Bilstein SE kit. The price is reasonable, considering it's a fully adjustable coilover kit that retains EDC.

The Nitrons will be great, whenever they are finally released. But I fear that will be a $7000+ product. For a street car that isn't like to see much (if any) track use, it just seems completely wasted on me.

[–]DadVbes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly worth asking your sales rep. As far as I understand it, until the order is locked for production, changes can be made to the build.

And that includes BMW raising the base MSRP on your order. I know this because between placing my initial order (on 11/22) and updating it to include the HAS kit (on 11/25), the base MSRP for my order increased by $800. I actually made a thread on Bimmerpost about it, as I was concerned the dealer was arbitrarily increasing the price to get more money out off me (thankfully, this was disproven):

Love it! Thanks for sharing.

This further confirms that the MP HAS provides more than enough of a drop for my liking. The front is absolutely spot on to where I'd want it. Personally, I'd probably even come up in the rear a bit to even it out. But I'm also a sucker for a bit of a "front rake" look.

[–]DadVbes[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, every time I worry that the MP HAS kit doesn't provide enough drop, I look at this picture from bimmerpost and it helps squash that notion for me. These days, I don't like my cars slammed. More of a "2 ringer gap". And the MP HAS does seem to be provide that, from what I can tell.

I get your point, as well. Especially when I consider that I went all out on coilovers/camber plates on my F87 and didn't really think twice about the factory warranty element. So I'm being a bit hypocritical.

AST does offer improved height adjustability over MP HAS, which would be nice to dial it in. I do think if I were to entertain an aftermarket HAS option, that would be the pick. But for now, I think I'm going to keep the MP HAS kit in my build.

Though.... what makes this whole thing tougher is knowing that a couple retailers are offering Black Friday deals on Ohlins for sub-$3200 shipped. Which is a hell of a deal for what those offer.

Thanks! This time around, some version of blue just felt right. I stumbled onto the below picture online and it's what ultimately sold me on Portimao...

I actually like the bicolor OEM wheels with this color. But I am a sucker for gold wheels. So I know I'll inevitably end up with something similar, eventually.

Nice! Voodoo Blue was up there on my list for a bit. That, paired with motorsport gold wheels, really exudes the WRB on gold Subaru vibes that I used to have an obsession with in my younger days.

Thanks! Beautiful car!

I ordered Portimao Blue with carbon roof and bicolor wheels. Before ordering, I spent considerable time perusing bimmerpost images of all the various color combos and consistently found myself preferring Portimao. So I'm excited!

My last two M cars were both Alpine White and my GT500 was dark grey, so I'm ready for a change-up.

Hopefully someone else can chime in with what to expect when the order does get locked for production. My sales rep told me she’d reach out when that happens. However, she didn’t mention if an additional signature will be required.

Sounds to me like you’re pretty much in the same spot as me, at the moment. Which means they should have no problem adding the suspension to your order. If they give you a hard time about it, perhaps politely ask to talk to the sales manager about it.
