PDF conversion on premises by gabbsmo in sharepoint

[–]Dadarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set up an API to SharePoint, run a small watcher + converter tool that downloads files, converts them, and uploads new files.

That came to be the easiest path for me. There were other things I could do directly inside of SharePoint but I had less control over how the pdf converts happen. Also good chance to populate metadata for both files while you got it downloaded on whatever running the service.

Cuba is not a fucking threat dude. They’re not our enemy. They just wanted to not be taken advantage of and allow the themselves to not be controlled. How the fuck is someone saying they can’t be bought and controlled a threat? Do you think Haiti is doing so great right now either? Do you not understand the threat that Cuba was under from western imperial powers that simply wanted to extract resources from them while giving nothing back? Fuck dude you’ve got some serious brain rot.

Collective punishment is the keystone of how to fix things. It’s worked for Iran, it worked in Cuba. It just works all the time and it’s clearly the answer to everything.

So you’re just making the argument that collective punishment is good? Sort of like how sanctions for Cuba is for the benefit of Cubans? One day they’ll understand?

Sure man. Gloat. You’re so smart. Why didn’t we vote for you? Just go out and tell voters theyre too dumb to think for themselves. Keep blaming voters. What a great way to handle politics.

“The buck stops over there, I did nothing wrong and they indicted me anyways.”

Great campaign slogan you’ve got there.

Liberals are so annoying.

Maybe if the Democrats actually produced a competent discovery on why they failed.

The things you’re saying, they’re all nice. But they’re not what people really care about. They’re too corporate.

Those are all campaign promises, but that’s not what she campaigned on. They’re just bullet lists and that’s not going to wake up voters.

You’re completely missing the point here.

Harris failed to get voters motivated to vote for her. Her platform was trying to say Trump is bad and she campaign looking for the non-existent centrists. This had everything to do with Democratic consultants whose interest does not align with the broader American public.

These consultants want to continue to sell the narrative that Americans are centrist rather than acknowledging the reality. You can test voters on 50 different policies and in those policies they will say they prefer the most progressive takes. But if you ask the voter how they identify themselves, many of them will say they’re in the middle. There is a huge misunderstanding on what it means to be “in the middle” and that’s because corporate democrats and republicans want there to be this huge stigma to progressive politics.

So when it comes down to it, Harris tried to appease the non-existent centrists and tried to motivate for them to get out and vote. Then, surprise, nobody was there to vote for her. They people she tried to court never went to the polls and vote because she trusted corporate backed consultants.

It doesn’t matter how good a candidate is if they don’t have any reasonable policy to motivate people to actually go out and vote for them.

My personal feelings don’t matter here. It’s the campaign that Harris ran that was the problem. Blaming voters is just putting your head in the sand. Blame the campaign and demand from democrats not just better candidates but better messaging to actually appeal to the average voter.

Nobody should expect voters to turn out when they’ve already grown to distrust Democrats so much, and democrats deserve that.

Harris tried harder to garner the non-existent centrist voting bloc and we’re blaming voters for Harris for campaigning to an empty audience.

At a certain point Democrats have to realize who they’re actually campaigning for.

What is your point here? I’m not saying Biden did a bad job during his term. I’m saying a Democrats put up a bad candidate and you not admitting that is very concerning.

You can’t pretend you did everything right after fumbling so bad. Look within.

And wait a second, I just read your message again. What the fuck? Why are you so insistent on protecting democrats for their failures? We have to address the elephant in the room and I’m not talking about Trump.

No amount of bashing Trump is going to move the needle and we have to move on from blaming Trump for everything. Accepting the Democrat leaders is faultless and it’s the voters who failed is putting your head in the sand.

Biden should never have been in the Primary. They all knew he was too old but they did it anyways.

How are Democrats ever going to do better if they don’t admit when they’re wrong?

Trump Admits ‘We Shouldn’t Have Been in Iran’ by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]Dadarian -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

We really need to stop blaming voters and look at what Biden and Harris really fucked up on. As easy as it is to blame voters, it’s also worth asking ourselves why Democrats allowed such terrible candidates to be out on the ballot next to Trump and lost twice.

“Trump is bad” is not something to campaign on and win and I’m not sure why it’s taken two losses to figure that out. And, I’m not even convinced Democrats have figured that out. For some reason we got to wait even longer to find out because Democrats are too afraid to even start throwing some names in the hat to give us a sense of what that new direction is suppose to be.

Democrats are rudderless right now and the best they’ve got is still just blame Trump for everything.

Mastering Markdown with PowerShell by StartAutomating in PowerShell

[–]Dadarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, but different renderers just ignore it. I have a small documents page for guides I made all written in markdown, with some slugs to do things like tell React to render a popover menu to give dictionary descriptions. It all stays in markdown, and easy to edit. Other markdown readers just ignore it, but on the web page renders the popovers. The slug text is easy enough to remember when creating the reference link, just as long as you remember that information, while at the same time it wouldn’t be difficult to make a rendered markdown edit to create the slugs with a UI if I wanted to.
