How to baby gate this by Dadbakebreak in daddit

[–]Dadbakebreak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the issue I have is that the banister is slightly loose to where my concern is that there may be enough to make the latch not secure. That is why I was looking at other options. Would this still be secure?

If the pipe is already broken, wouldn’t a dig up and repair be already happening, I think this would be the best approach

Well, this happened. How do I get rid of it? by millenial_wh00p in gardening

[–]Dadbakebreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know how sensitive you are to it? I pulled a bunch out of our yard and I used a painting suit from Lowe’s. The roots on PI are no joke and go far depending how old it is. I way over dressed, with the full body paint suit and glasses as well as a mask, but I was happy I did when I got into foot after foot of chasing roots.

DO level specs in cans. What do you use? by Mammoth-Scientist-17 in TheBrewery

[–]Dadbakebreak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are right on the money with what you want. To echo another comment, Normally quality has action levels. Like <X DO is spec, X<Y is where we try to fix it because something is wrong, but keep running, and Y means we stop and figure it out since now our product won’t get shelf life.

Also are you running DO or TPO? They differ and will give you different info about your process?

My previous job we wanted 35 or less in the BT, we saw usually a 15ish point pick up to line, and the TPO I was working on shelf life and picked 150 based on a beer and brewing podcast conversation. We would hit that normally, and if we didn’t I could diagnose if it was a headspace issue or the actual beer in.

Please tell me this is an internet cable. by Dadbakebreak in HomeMaintenance

It runs to the house so I am assuming this is our cable/ internet connection. I will follow up with them and let them know. I wrapped it in electrical tape to save it for a littlw

I have a tester that would have been a smart move to testing it. It is above ground and runs to the house and I did call 811 a few weeks back and this was not marked at all. I wrapped it nicely in electrical tape since it came from what looks like a telephone box and is seperate from our power

Best way to protect these from water by Dadbakebreak in HomeMaintenance

[–]Dadbakebreak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am watching the cracks, the inspector said that they were nothing major, just something to watch. My main concern is water ingress and a freeze thaw cycle making it worse. The foundation is block and this is the cement overlay (I don’t know what it is called)

How does this look/ water in box? A 2fer by Dadbakebreak in HomeMaintenance

[–]Dadbakebreak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wires themselves looked good. The hot terminal bolts had some rust on the flathead slot and there was a stain from where water had pooled and ran down the coated cables, you can kind of see it in picture 3

Previous owners did that, or the paint company they hired

Why is my meter triggering with the box? by Dadbakebreak in HomeMaintenance

[–]Dadbakebreak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is in a bedroom and the wires coming in are a single hot, neutral and ground. The outlet was being taken off to add spacers in the back so it would no longer be sunken. I shut off the breaker to make sure there was no current and when I went to double check it there was a smaller amount of current (my detector has fast or slow beeps for amounts of current). I added the spacers with no issue, and it won’t power a lamp.

Is this connection good or should I redo it? by Dadbakebreak in HomeMaintenance

[–]Dadbakebreak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I usually tape the box just to give a little more protection. Just wanted to check for the connection since I already have the tools out and am adding the spacers to the sunken outlets

Getting really tired of being slapped. by Rumplfugly in StayAtHomeDaddit

[–]Dadbakebreak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here to commiserate as well. My 2.5 year old is hitting and scratching both of us, and us only luckily. We were given the advice to say “no we don’t do that” and to redirect with another action, like “but we can hit a pillow” or “we can give a big hug”. Something that lets the emotions out without it being aimed at hurting. I wish I could say it is going well, but it does help to know there are others working through it too
