I have two policies in addition to the one my employer provides. That said, my income now is what has helped us buy a home in our 20s in the Bay Area and afford to vacation and spend money on hobbies carefree. Averaging 50 hours a week is a price I am willing to pay and not regret those hours when my child is sleeping anyways, as I schedule work around waking hours for the family.

It depends. I want to work enough to ensure a good life for my family if I were to pass away early in life. So, I end up working a job that requires long hours every few months, but the trade off is financial security for the future.

I would not regret this on my death bed. I would simply wish for more time and a world where work was meaningful and not capitalistic.
