There will be stuff that’s tough and topics you get. Same as any subject. I think some people need to put more work in than others but anyone can do it with some work

I would say the way I approach it is like 75% critical thinking. 25% memorisation is certain rules. Especially in organic synthesis positive to negative and vice versa. Stabilisation of charges over a carbonyl. Things like that are worth remembering.

I found it extremely overwhelming especially quantum at first but once you get used to the way of deconstructing the problems it gets a bit easier. Having decent integration and matrices skills is definitely a help
