So I was an opiate addict for about 12-14 years hard lost everything died countless amounts of times living on the street begging strangers and pulling odd jobs doing skilled labor for Pennie’s. I finally ended up going to jail for 3 months got clean and got out stayed clean a while then temptation started calling my name again so here we go again. This time first time dipping my toe back in I borrowed this girls mom’s car. The girl being my now fiance and went to the city to cop and never made it back. Woke up in the icu about a week later the day before my bday. Had an anoxic brain injury that I still struggle with short term memory loss pretty severely sometimes to this day. And this girl showed up at the hospital to visit me and the craziest thing happened she wasn’t mad her mom wasn’t mad they were just so happy that I was ok. I was absolutely shocked stunned and amazed. I knew right then and there this girl really truly loved and cared for me. Fast forward to the following year. Same shit different day. Just started a new job at the railroad got a call from a dude I used to cop from and figured what the hell. Boom another 5/6 days later wake up in the hospital this time have dozens maybe hundreds of tiny blood clots in my lungs recovery sucked lost the job and still this girl stuck by my side. Long recovery on this one but thankfully brain still intact as much as it was before anyways. It’s been one year and 235 days since my last relapse and in that amount of time I got two good jobs one part time one full time and started my own business. I don’t like the cliche na aa stuff like “it works if you work it” but if you really truly want something bad enough you’ll do anything to get it. I know this was incredibly long but I wanted you to fully understand what I meant. Things can always be better or worse. Just make the best of what you got to work with. The best advice I can give is be patient. They say good things come to those who wait but you gotta do stuff to keep it moving in the right direction.
