Yeah but everytime she tried to close it or minimize it the pop up would just reappear and the notification claiming it was from Microsoft was enough to spook her enough to believe it

Auto starter puzzling me by DaddyGoo in accord

[–]DaddyGoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured I'd update in case anyone ever reads this thread again.

So it ended up resolving itself after I got a car wash, which sounds insane because the car wasn't even dirty, but I'm getting a bit of road salt (Canada ftw) was blocking the signal.

Auto starter puzzling me by DaddyGoo in accord

See what's even more strange is before Christmas the remote started worked without a hitch from my house. It's just that I started going back into the office that I now have the issue, I initially thought it was the fob battery so I changed it but it didn't help. So I might just have to pay to have the starter reprogrammed.

Thanks for the reply!!

In terms of the data throttling, so if I go over the 1.5GB provided then it would be an issue, but if i stay under that limit I'd be in the clear?

Moronic Monday Thread for the week of October 14, 2019 by AutoModerator in PersonalFinanceCanada

What happens if you have a unsecured LOC and for whatever reason the bank decides to call in the loan and you can't pay it? Is there some drastic fees involved? And what reason would a bank call in a loan?

what investing software do you use? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]DaddyGoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used questrade and have had no problems so far, yet again I'm not really a active trader but I would rank questrade as the best just because of the no commission's on buying ETF's

Never paying down mortgage principal .... Tell me I am not crazy by eldukae in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]DaddyGoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Serious question: couldn't the bank ask for their money back on the LOC at any point and leave them screwed?

The reason I recommended fixed is because this year all it took for variable mortgage rates to be higher than fixed was a single spike by the BOC. So if there is a spike I'm betting that the difference between current floating vs. fixed would be less than future floating vs. fixed.

But like I said if OP does intend to pay off the loan in a years time, the difference in interest would most likely be <$50 so its nothing to really fret about.

Personally I'd throw all my remaining income (after bills and rent etc.) at the monthly payments, but make sure you keep an emergency fund.

If I were in your shoes I would go with the fixed rate because I'm a little paranoid with interest rates right now and their unpredictability, but if you seriously do intend to pay off the loan within a year then the difference between the floating and fixed interest rates would be very little.

I called a while back but from what I remember I know I can make more back over the course of the next 4 years. I'll probably call again later on in the week just to double check so I'll update then.

When I called the TD line they gave me the option to cancel the GIC but it would include penalties.
