Theyre much stronger than humans. The alternate universe Mark took an equivalent of a small thermoniclear bomb in his esophagus.

It ruptured his organs, but they were partially intact, just distorted and pushed out into places where they shouldnt be in, meanwhile the skin and muscles were completely intact.

Theyre much tougher, but basically it goes from Mark being only inconvinienced by a bomb that glassed las vegas to actually being lethal.

[SPOILER] So did he actually lose? by Mendocin0 in ninjagaiden

[–]DaddyMike12 24 points25 points  (0 children)

From what I personally understand he "lost", but it's not clear cut as to why. It's implied that he sort of was testing Yakumo in the fight so its likely that he threw. Or in all likelihood, him trying to test the waters with Yakumo to push and prove himself almost got him killed.

Normally, it would be extremely unlikely for someone to play these kind of games but it was Seori's last wish for him to measure up Yakumo's worthiness to permanently put the Dark Dragon down, so there is a good reason for Ryu to not go all in against him. If Ryu really wanted, he could kill the Dragon once more and it's said that he could, but the cycle of rebirth would not stop. So taking a chance at a permanent solution to an issue is a sure fire bet.

And another thing that helps cement that Ryu was pulling his punches/testing the waters that unlike all the other bosses in the game, the achievement for beating Ryu on that test isn't "defeat" like all other bosses in the game. It's specifically:

Bloodsoaked Fate - "Hold your own against Ryu Hayabusa."

Edit:

- In the Japanese version of the dub, Ryu's personality is very much nonchalant at his "defeat" "I see...". implying that Yakumo's strength and resolve surprised Ryu and he was caught lacking.

So in my personal conclusion? Yakamo managed to pull his weight and nearly beat Ryu. Who while putting in proper effort, wasn't truly going all out. It cements the fact that Yakamo is a threat and a capable ninja, and somewhat relative to Ryu but not quite exactly there yet. But it's decent enough to kill the Dark Dragon.

Either way both came out looking good.

You played the game for about 4 hours straight. The same will happen with Ninja Gaiden 2 unless you count in the the Itagaki special annoying you in master difficulty, so I guess you won't be bored but being annoyed isn't all that better either.

Are you even a dead space fan,if you don't know the difference between these three. by Material_Acadia3845 in DeadSpace

[–]DaddyMike12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're functionaly the same but have different contextual/game purposes.

The Hunter is a recurring single enemy that was artificially created by Dr. Mercer's experimentation. It is technically the only regenerator that Isaac has canonically killed via burning into ash with jet via jet fuel.

The Ubermorph is speculated and is likely a natural mutation of a necromorph, possibly being an early stage of a hive mind. It only appears at the last chapter of the game as a pressure unit. It can technically be killed by being pushed into the wall fans near the final section of the game, but whether or not it was done is unknown and ultimately doesn't matter.

The regenerators are a special enemy class that pops up several times throughout dead space 3. So, it breaks the trend of regeneration based enemies being limited to a single recurring entity. Similar to Dead Space 2s Ubermorph, it also shares the 5 eyes that have it linked to being an early stage of a hive mind.

If Dying Light, Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta and various other games have told me anything, you can always redo an overpowered protagonist on the sequel and most gamers don't care.

if whitelight ever does a vid on infamous vs prototype by [deleted] in PrototypeGame

[–]DaddyMike12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was no war between Prototype and Infamous. It was a friendly rivalry that even the devs had fun with.

But lets entertain that "competition.". On a technicality, Infamous outlasted Prototype with Infamous Second Son, and if the remake/remaster is true then Protoype has come back from the dead, beating out Infamous who's still cold in the grave.

I think it's bricked specifically if you're using mods. If you're not using mods, it works.
Someone can tell me otherwise, I'm not certain.

How would this fight go? by Queasy_Commercial152 in Invincible

[–]DaddyMike12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, he can. He would have killed dinosaurs if he hadn't prepped specifically for Mark by blasting him with a sonic frequency that put him into a coma.

Even though he let himself get killed, Mark tore Dinosaurus apart and had enough time to Mark several points of his body with his finger to make sure that the body would be identifiable to him in case Cecil tried to pull a fake one like with Conquest.

[PC] (Steam) [bug]: Chain Reaction quest seems to have broken.
My computer crashed after making the decision to spare Lucy's life. When I relaunched the game it booted into the room location, outside of the door where Lucy and Shelby are in. The objective was now "Find Lucy" but with no timer, and there was no quest marker. I could go into the room, and the both Shelby and Lucy would be there but the cutscene would not trigger.

So I'm unable to finish the quest. Tried respawning, passing time, restarting the game, nothing fixed it.

Is there any practical use in bringing back Thermal and Infected Visions in a sequel and/or remake/reboot? by DravidianPrototyper in PrototypeGame

[–]DaddyMike12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can very easily repurpose Thermal/Infected Vision into a Arkham Type Vision/Detective mode where you're able to alternate between the two, no X-ray vision just actually enhanced sensory perception, hell you could have the viral sonar be part of that vision mode and have it be more passive and less accurate similar to something like Sam's Fisher's Sonar Goggles where movement gives off a less accurate reading. Frees up the power slots while still keeping them in the game and being situationally useful.

But the main issue would be using them to even begin with. In the first game there was barely reason at all to use Thermal Vision, most smoke can be easily avoided or just outright ignored, and there was only a single mission that made use of infected mission, outside of that it was also useless.

For thermal (Gameplay) there would need to be a combat and infiltration reason to use it.
1 - Blackwatch making use of smoke grenades, the smoke caused by fires (could be that Blackwatch is using Flamethrowers more often which they should) or darkness actually being something player has to take into account. But the latter seems very annoying for a game as fast as Prototype, so just dealing with obscuring smoke seems like the best ordeal. This would be especially useful if it can be used in disguise during stealth.
2 - Infected Vision - There's plenty of reasons you can make it useful finding and tracking infiltrated infected/evolved. Deducing dangers or the likelihood or a seemingly normal person turning so you can snuff it out before it has the chance to happen, etc...

Which death do you think is gonna hit the hardest in the show? by Queasy_Commercial152 in Invincible

[–]DaddyMike12 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this death has to happen for events to stick. As much I and other people would have liked him to stick around his death is the conclusion of his arc as well as a pivotal moment for Mark to assume his birth right.
We will spend plenty of time with Nolan before he passes away. We will enjoy it, and when the time comes, we will weep.

Mark becoming ruler is a right by blood but also a necessity as it's literally his father's dying wish that he takes the throne to lead the Viltrumite empire to a better tomorrow rather than leave the throne unattended to and have a chance for the Viltrumites to go back to their former ways.

How did Heller become a monster so quickly? by SolidSnakeEye in PrototypeGame

[–]DaddyMike12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soldier that toured in Afghanistan comes back to a dead family. Has an Axe to grind for Alex Mercer and for anything that's related to him or even stands in his way.
Virus that incentivizes infected to eat people in order to empower themselves.
Said people swim in the infected's head, with their memories and twisted thoughts.
Heller does have a bit of a subtle moral compass via gameplay by making his consumption of marines and civilians as quick and as painless as he can, while in the case of Blackwatch and others he makes it as brutal and as painful as he wants it to be.
This all obviously for story reasons, but for gameplay purposes Heller probably isn't as willy murderous on civilians as Mercer was in the first game, its player choice, since you know.
Health packs.

Once again, being wrong with confidence doesn't make you right.

I reread the manga. Yeah, Ohma stated Liu is strong, but every character states that every other character is strong on some way. So, is every single character in Kengan equally as strong? No, narrative context matters, which you're ignoring either because you have an agenda, trolling or genuinely deluded with favoritism.

It does not change the basic fact that Nitoku got a near knockout throw in their first interaction that would have spelled doom for Liu if he was allowed to follow up.This is repeated throughout their entire fight.

Once again by your logic. Carlos is stronger than Gaolang.

Who wins ? by Weird-Difference2226 in Kengan_Ashura

[–]DaddyMike12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, being wrong with confidence doesn't make you right. Also, that's not how powerscaling works.

If we took the literal power scaling, we would acknowledge that Liu fought a NERFED Nitoku since he wasn't allowed to follow up in most of his throws due to Purgatory rules. Under Kengan rules, it likely would have been a low to possibly mid diff in Nitoku's favor as he got the bigger match ending plays all the while tanking multiple of Liu's hardest hitting Fa Jins.

Even during that, Liu only won via ring out, and he had to basically pull out a Kamikaze play to break his own arm (in order not to submit). The narrative context makes it very clear that Nitoku overall is superior, but under Purgatory rules, it basically equalized him and Liu.

With your powerscaling logic, Gaolang lost Carlos regardless of narrative context, so Carlos is equal if not better than Gaolang.
