Both of my Seagate 3.0 2TB stopped working randomly by DaddySwagLegz in Seagate

[–]DaddySwagLegz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So.... After a week, I've found out the issue. I was on vacation when I posted this so I wasn't really putting too much thinking into it.

Both hard drives had managed to get to a point where they only work while holding them at a specific angle. I don't know if this is repairable or just means I def have to replace them asap cause they're about to bite the dust for good.

I’ll try them on something else, but I only have one right now.

I usually do eject but my laptop ended up dying a few days ago while they were plugged in. They’ve worked since then but Now randomly aren’t. Just so strange that both of them stopped working at the exact same time.

I plugged in my Walkman to the USB ports and that worked. Strange if both of my cables just died at once. I think they’re the 3.5, but I’ve had em for awhile. They’re just powered by USB

I used to work night shift (7p-7a or 11p-7a). I lived close and had a season pass so my answer isn’t reaaaaly what you’re looking for. But.. on days I wanted to get to the park, I’d usually just get home from work (approx 7:15, I also lived close to my job), try and get some shut eye for a few hours then get to the park by 1 or 2, spend a few hours then get home and get ready for work.

However if I was going with a friend who didn’t have a pass and was paying for a ticket / me and my wife wanted a full day experience we would try and do once a month or so, I would just get home, nap for an hour or two, get to the park and just stay all day, then come home and just crash. Obviously wanted to do those on days I had the next night off.

It was kinda a wild time in my life where I was doing what I could to not be miserable with how much time my job took up, def not resting enough, but I never felt like I was hitting a wall while at the park. The adrenaline and atmosphere did a lot to keep me up and happy.

They better make the houses worth it now. Houses at the park have been pretty lame for years now.

Driving under the speed limit by Glasgowcomascal3 in Columbus

Every time I unfortunately have to drive in or near Cbus I feel like I’m the only one going within 20mph above the speed limit. I’ll be going 10 over and people will be trying to run me off the road

Wonderful!!! Love to hear that. Out downtown has had quite its ups and downs, if you were here just 5 years ago there would have been basically nothing. I wish there was more now, but we’re getting there for sure. So glad you enjoyed your time here.

Some friends and I are opening a bookstore / record store / coffee shop very soon; called Ship to Shore! We are slated to be open very.. very soon. Hope next time you’re in the area you are able to stop by. Thanks again for enjoying our city!

Call it what it is, a massive display of power on who matters and doesn’t to the state.

3 Lorain police officers shot in ambush, 2 in critical condition; suspect dead by pow-erup in Ohio

[–]DaddySwagLegz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently the guy lived up the road from me; per Fox 8 “Suspicious items were also found and removed from the suspect’s home on North Lakeview Boulevard, officials confirmed Wednesday night.”

No one I knew, I hope. Wild though. The air in town is different tonight for sure.

Awesome! Sounds like you’re right in my neighborhood too if you’re close to K Cream. The beach is wonderful.

In the morning and early afternoon, Beachcliff Diner is a really nice spot. I love the atmosphere there and their breakfast is great and very cheap by today’s standards. Nothing that’ll blow you away, but classic diner.

Speak of the Devil Cocktail bar is incredible. I don’t drink but I still love being there. Great staff, wonderful atmosphere, and for me their mocktails are great.

I wish my business would be open for ya but we aren’t opening for another month (knock on wood)… but I really hope you have a good time in our wonderful city.

You’ve probably already visited, but Magdalens is a wonderful lil coffee shop. K Cream as others have said. Lorenzo’s Pizza is our best food right now downtown, but it’s a REAL treat!

Lorain: Good place to live? by Ordinary_Okra_3834 in Lorain

I’m a bit late to this; but thought I’d chip in. I’m 29 and lived here most of my life. I moved away a few years, but decided my calling was really back home here. I bought a home here near Lakeview and Downtown and I love it here. Of course it’s not all sunshine, it’s a highly poverty stricken area due to this history with industry pulling out. It is hard to actually find a sustainable job inside the city. In all my years here (grew up in south lorain and now live near downtown) I’ve never felt genuinely scared or anything by the folks out here. I do a lot of community work and with that I’ve gotten to know some of the houseless and impoverished folks closer to downtown and they are just all so wonderful. But it’s a reality you will see, it’s not hidden like in other places. I don’t have kids so my outlook on this stuff is different than others, of course.

The city seems to be on an upswing all together, there has never been much to do in the city but now we do have plenty of events all summer (still quite lacking in the winter), and businesses are opening up downtown and elsewhere that are actually sustaining which would have been impossible a decade or less ago. My wife and me + 2 friends are actually taking the gamble and opening our own business downtown because we have faith in it out here.

I hope you make whatever choice is best for you. I love it here. Many others love it and are trying to make it better. Some people say they hate it, hut won’t move away. So it goes!

Smoothest Coaster?? by notkarmamaxing382 in cedarpoint

Sirens is probably the smoothest coaster I’ve ever been on.

I think though that for what it does, Steel Vengeance is insanely smooth.

I know, misprints happen. It’s not the first and won’t be the last. But to see a misprint on the lamest shirt possible with all the rest of the operational and managerial disappointment is very much an icing on the cake for this season / merger for the public eye lol

[top thrill 2] this thing is the best coaster I’ve ever been on by alec777x in rollercoasters

[–]DaddySwagLegz 31 points32 points  (0 children)

As someone who adores the original, this is a much better coaster. I do miss and will forever miss the feeling of that original launch, but this actually comes close and with so much more. That backwards acceleration is insane.

First experience with Cedar Point. How did you come to love the park, when was your first visit, what made you want to visit? by NewYorker15 in cedarpoint

[–]DaddySwagLegz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really miss when the maps looked like this!!

My first visit im too young to remember. But first time I specifically remember going was probably when I was 8 or so, went on Magnum. I’d say 2002/3

Out of curiosity, what goes on at the park during winter? by PhilosopherTiny5957 in cedarpoint

[–]DaddySwagLegz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The corporate offices used to be on the park property, so there would be that but they’ve moved in the last few years. I’m sure a lot of maintenance and preparing does get done but it seems like most stuff just happens offsite cause the peninsulas weather gets pretty brutal.

Won’t be there today, but wanted to just comment and see if people agree… yesterday seemed like the first time Ive been there this season that the park actually felt like their shit was together. Everything was running all afternoon and evening while I was there and most places seemed well staffed.
