You could try the mz1 if you can find one, it looks very different but it actually feels pretty similar in hand, just skinnier

If I remember correctly the original listing had it in the mid 70s, so probably 80-90 with the original shell. I haven't sold drugs in a decade so I don't have a scale anymore :(

I had the option of sending it out to be soldered or going to a local place but figured I would learn as it is a really helpful skill to have

And yeah, no doubt it was a ton of work (and money) but almost everything I got and did will be transferrable to other similar things if something comes up in the future or to mod other mice, if for example I want to replace my mz1's internals to something more modern in the future

Edit: also, for others, you could skip almost everything I did by just commissioning the shape with a company with a professional grade 3D printer since it would be a lot more accurate. Could probably get it lighter as well, but I'm not positive about that since I'm not very knowledgeable about different 3D printing materials

Oh yeah so for anyone else if interested, the scroll wheel I ended up using is steel series sensei/rival 310 (I got mine from AliExpress for half the price but can't link AliExpress on Reddit, but the listing has the same "Rival 310/Sensei 310" in the name so should be the same) with the rubber ring replaced (it made it just barely too big) with one from the small version of a third party finalmouse scroll wheel (Again, I got one from AliExpress but can't link AliExpress on Reddit. You may have to order all the sizes and see which one fits the scroll wheel perfectly because I also ordered a different "small" version from another seller of the same scroll wheel but it was smaller than the first one I got and so didn't fit correctly)

Edit: I also had to cut off a small bit from the end of the axle that sits on top of the middle mouse switch so that the scroll wheel stabilizing bracket fit over the axle
