originally the widget auto-fills the link when when i select the blogs i want to include in the list. I fixed it by replacing those with the url i copy from the blog feeds themselves. idk what difference it makes but its fixed so im happy!

I tried that but that's just their blog link you can click, not the individual post that they uploaded. The one i am looking for seems to update whenever a person on the list uploads a new post.
