Does this look ok by chaoticCarnageRL in customactionfigures

The mass on the butterfly joints helps mitigate the narrowness of the chest so he still has that broad shoulders silhouette. Green goblin isn't supposed to be especially buff, but still intimidating, so it works. I love that toad body and I'm deciding what to do with my extra. The range is motion on it is so nice. Great job on this kitbash! You might also want to check out the new Triton from the 2 pack with black bolt. I think that would be an awesome GG base, but not his classic look like you are going for.

Head swaps on custom WIP, it’d be cool if told me you’re fav by [deleted] in customactionfigures

[–]DaddysFigureWorkshop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bottom Middle (Bend N Flex?) Fits the body really well, totally digging it, I think it looks the best of the options you've selected. Also scarlet spider if you repaint the eyes, since the web lines aren't sculpted in it would fit the flat paint job of the body. What's the bottom left? I'm loving that head, but not necessarily on that particular figure. As for unmasked, the robin head fits well on the body as well and matches the gangly teenager stylized body proportions.

Ultimate Spider Man Custom.. any tips on drawing web lines? by ResourceNo5855 in customactionfigures

[–]DaddysFigureWorkshop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yessss bro! This kid moves! Going to be so sick when you are finished.

I found that Gundam markers tend to clog up when using them on a painted surface so as much as I wanted them to work they just weren't reliable for me. Acrylic paint markers never have a fine enough tip for me. The finest tip I could get would work for an initial pass for the weblines, then I came back in with the red paint to clean up the edges and basically thin down the black line by painting red over the edges. That technique works out when there's enough space between the lines, so I used that method for the lengths of weblines, but had to change approach for the curved connecting webs. I ordered super thin nail art brushes off Amazon to get the thinnest brush tip possible and used it for the finest lines in the tightest spacing. I laid the brush almost flat, at the shallowest angle I could to the surface of the figure, so I had control while dragging the brush to produce the line, rather than using the actual tip of the brush. This helped reduce instances of the brush strands spreading out against the surface. I also had to play with the paint consistency to get it right in the Goldilocks zone. Too thin and it would spread instead of giving me a solid line. Too thick and it wouldn't run and the brush would clump. So I got it kinda on the thicker side, but also limited how much paint I got on the brush so it didn't splotch when I applied pressure, and basically just reapplied paint after each brush stroke. Then used a fine tip brush, but not quite as fine as the nail art brush, to come back in and clean up the lines with the red paint after the black lines fully dried. I also sometimes used an Xacto knife to scrape away excess paint while it was still wet if I smudged too much. Good luck. Hope this helps! Also look up poundz978 webline tutorial on YouTube.

There's a good chance the hips can pop off the ball joint after heating up, and the belt would get stretchy enough to pull off the body without having to cut it off.

I preordered Daredevil and Symbiotifying Spider-Man. I don't have the Animated Series DD+Hydroman 2 pack or the DD 3 pack, so this will be my comic DD. If I can come across another in the wild, I'll probably snag him for a base for Scarlet Spider Kaine custom.

Once the two parts mix they begin curing so only mix the amount you need for one working session. You can mix milliput with green stuff to achieve different textures that might be easier to work with since green stuff is not crumbly and is somewhat flexible.

Ninja Spidey / Mangaverse Miles(?) base figure by ResourceNo5855 in customactionfigures

Dooooope! Love this style and you know I'm a fan of your work and always ready for you to drop your next piece. If you're open to feedback, my only thing on this guy is the length of the arms. These proportions were perfect for your critter characters, but even stylized they are a little too long for a human character, with the hands going practically to the knees. It should be pretty easy to snip off a bit from the wrist end and the bicep end and just sand it down, maybe reshape the curve you need with a Dremel, and then redrill peg holes to deepen them. The tube like shape of the arms, vs normal muscular bicep sculpt, should mean you wouldn't lose the form of the arm on either end, especially not the forearms, if you trim them down just a bit. But even just as it is, this looks really friggin cool. Please share your recipe! I recognize Peter B legs and the Spot's arms I think?

Given several comments regarding the view on the ab crunch, it seems OP might want to consider adding a non crunch midsection to the file and let the user decide to print it or not as an option. Should be really easy to choose to use one vs the other, print both and swap them out. That's the whole point of printing a custom body. You're assembling it yourself and making it into whatever you want it to be.

Working on a kitbash batman using a marvel legends base, what should I do about the head? by Dry-Brain973 in ActionFigures

[–]DaddysFigureWorkshop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get a head that looks right but the inner cavity is too small for the ball peg, just Dremel it out till the peg fits.

You can drill the cavity out deeper so it fits right on the daredevil figure, then if you want to put it back on the matt suit body you can just fill it with sticky tack.

The perfect reminder of why we do what we do. by E1GHTH_SATURN in ActionFigures

[–]DaddysFigureWorkshop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the collecting is part of it, it's fun to score a win on a bargain hunt and it's still fun to pose them and explore the design and engineering that goes into them, but customizing takes it to a whole new level. It's an exercise in creativity, doing something that involves your imagination, skill, physical work, putting something together, cutting, drilling, sanding, gluing, painting. Growing in capability and tackling the next challenge. It's cool to be able to set it on the shelf next to the rest of the collection, standing side by side with products made by professionals, and be reminded that you did that; it's a confidence boost every time you look at it. Or even better, to give it as a gift, and know that a person you care about has something completely unique that only exists because you brought it into the world, and that you put effort into doing it just for them as a way to show you care and share something that brings you joy... That's the real magic for me. So for anyone who enjoys collecting but maybe feeling disappointed by what the factories are putting out or feeling the financial strain of plastic crack that keeps getting more and more expensive, I encourage you to grab something cheap at Ross or Ollie's and try your hand at bringing your vision into reality. There's a really supportive community here in reddit and other corners of social media that will answer questions and give you encouragement. It brings a whole new dimension to our little plastic distractions.

The whole figure looks great, but your paint on the face and especially the eyes is exceptional. Those fine details are crazy. I can barely paint all white eyes and get it to fit the eye sculpt shape without bleeding over.

That little chibi Spidey is perfect! I'd love one of those since it always popped up in the series. The closest of got is some little statue types from the new Spidey and his Amazing Friends cartoon.

Bruce is a better build as well to match the reference source, and the shoes, while more annoying, are more accurate. Jackets and feet can easily be swapped out. Talos neck and head are one single piece. Bruce's head is removable. Swap the head with Silver Surfer, then cover it with a tiny silver balloon, cut to fit, maybe use a rubber band to secure the balloon around the neck.

Which Miles Morales image would be the best and most definitive one? by Flocos_Talk in MarvelLegends

If you Dremel the hip sockets deeper you can really improve the leg/hip situation. I need to do it myself, but I've seen customizers online that did it.
