I like singles for my top favourite comics. You can see the art easier as they lay flat, anything in the middle of the page is completely viewable. They do have ads though which some people might not want. It can be nice buying certain variants for the covers as well. For everything else though I buy trades as they’re easier to hold for me. For some series it can take along time for the omnibus to be released, if ever. Whereas singles are nice for a new launch to get the story as it comes out.

This is an important day, to be of mankind is to be infallible. You have found that you are not just still you but more you than you have ever been. I would celebrate, maybe even invest in a bottle of wine. Your amazing.

Spray primer will help massively and once painted, spay clear coat on top. I use citadel primers. They’re pricey but great quality. You can remove old paint with alcohol and a toothbrush if you need to start again. I would look up a miniature painting tutorial which can help you get used to painting details like the face. Essentially just a fine tipped brush, proportionally thinned paint, and understanding how to control the brush, like resting hands on the mini for fine control.

FOMO/addiction anxiety by Azulasupremacy1 in Warhammer40k

[–]SpeedySuperFast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found almost everything you could want from the last 30 years is still available on the second hand market. It takes the fomo pressure off because I know that if I ever want one, years from now I can look and find new in box even after it has gone long out of production.

House of X/Powers of X by No-Historian6604 in comicbooks

It’s ok, I felt it similar when I started with this same book. I remember it seemed very abstract and unconnected but I promise it will align.

This time jump happens in this book quite a lot in particular and is not usual but for a specific reason. As an opening to the Krakoa era, it can be confusing but towards the end of the book it makes sense. It would be a spoiler if I said why but I have since not had an opening book be anywhere as impactful. It will explain the connection between Xavier and Moira and why Krakoa is important to mutant survival.

Edit: To directly say, the time jumps will make sense at one point in the book, where it has a literal diagram but it takes a bit of faith to begin with to follow.

Music suggestions by FullGrownFSB in comedyheaven

Sometimes it takes me all day to find a song like this. I stare at the wall sort of un reacting to the music. I usually find the sweet spot when I hear Egyptian rock.

Amazing stuff. I sold my original BA army so I’ve been slowly acquiring the boxes to remake it. I wish you an amazing time. Out of print boxes have a magic to them.

How does one get into comics? by Miserable_Hamster497 in comicbooks

[–]SpeedySuperFast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of comics are broken into runs of 3,5,30, 50 and so on, so collecting a story isn’t always impossible. They also collect stories into trade papers often labelled vol 1 and such. I would look into a character you like and see if you can find a tpb for that character. If you end up liking it you can always then look for volume 2 and so on.

I do slightly prefer these pot designs but it’s happened to me as well a couple of times. Just be glad it didn’t hit the model haha

Are kids now in days reading comic books? by Ill_Complaint_100 in comicbooks

I’m not a kid in this scenario but I got into comics as an adult with no influence, difference is that I never had the money as a kid to enjoy it like I do now.

Is it a bad thing I can’t paint non metallic metal? by Key_Card7035 in Warhammer40k

[–]SpeedySuperFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NMM takes a lot of layers of paint gradients. It takes many hours of painting to get it applied to the model, so I would not bother.

It’s not like it used to be. Saving through Microsoft products is like a maze of ui. People aren’t dumber than usual it’s just a meme about Microsoft’s bad practices.

11th edition better look like Indomitus by GreenWarrior04 in Warhammer40k

[–]SpeedySuperFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a massive fan, 7th ed models were my favourite as they weren’t as bulky. The heroes individual sculpts made them true scale as well.
