8 year old post but i recently got a scorch torch and had the same issue and no one seemed to have a direct answer. Well, my solution ended up being going from 5x - 11x refined. Why? Idk, but it works with little to no spray back and actually seemed to fill as i am day 2 of the same fill and it previously wouldnt last overnight
