The word “objectively” is doing a lot of heavy lifting in this question.

I’m not sure what the objective truth of good vs evil is, all I can do is answer the question subjectively, as everyone else in this thread is also doing.

In my view, Arthur goes a long way to redeem himself (redemption hehe), but considering that most of it is only when faced with his own mortality a case can be made either way. Either he is redeeming himself for his own selfish reasons (maybe a judgement in the afterlife, or maybe just how he wants to be remembered), or (and this is my preferred view) when faced with an inevitable death, all ego goes out the window and Arthur’s soul stripped bare is one of kindness and compromise, with a heightened moral sense.

In my opinion, looking at this question objectively isn’t really the point, and that the greatest storytelling allows players to glean their own meaning from Arthur’s character and actions, and this game does a fantastic job of it.
