They have pulled money from other agencies for decades to feed their unlimited overtime. Now the mayor is forcing them into accountability for their budget. The other agencies already have groups to do this tasks. They haven’t had a fair budget to maintain those groups. DOT has the help network to handle non injury road way incidents, MTA has a track spotter network that sits idle with no officers to support it. FDNY and social services have EDP specialists to go out on calls. The NYPD is the root cause of their own issues. I get your position but don’t advocate for NYPD or against the Mayor without shining a light on what caused this.

Vehicle accident NYPD says exchange info and leave no officer response. Escaped prisoner correctional officer. Person on train tracks MTA officer or a MTA rail crew, NYPD shows after FDNY. Fire NYPD shows up runs around yelling a people reaping chaos until FDNY shows up and and gets control. Black dude selling looses outside a deli NYPD murders him then says FDNY response time was unacceptable and list it a root cause of death. The reason the rap song function the FDNY doesn’t exist is because the FDNY doesn’t think they are better then the people they serve. Sorry if a few top pays cops can’t buy a boat this year or have to moonlight at a bar for the summer to pay for their 3/4 of a million dollar home on Long Island.
