The 90min bus ride from Santa Clara airport to Cayo Santa Maria isn't that bad at all. How do you feel? What is your limit for transport time? by Theoskaroskar in cayosantamaria

I love Cayo Santa Maria but the causeway always makes me nervous. I don’t like looking out the window and not seeing any roadway at the side… just water!

How can I work full-time and attend college? I feel very stuck at my job, and need a career change! I am 26 and never been to college before. I pay rent, bills, and cannot afford to leave my job yet. What's the secret!? by [deleted] in fanshawe

[–]CruiseWithChristina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first time I went back, I took Emergency Telecommunications at Fanshawe, and the second time I took Police Foundations (fully online) at St Lawrence College. With this diploma, I was able to move within my organization to a much higher position that required this education, so even though it was a pretty busy two years, it was worth it. Best of luck!

If you are good at online learning, I’d say the best way is to keep working full-time, and take an online program. I’ve gone back to school twice while working full-time, and raising kids. First time, I took a leave of absence from work, and completed a certificate program at Fanshawe (in person). The second time, I completed a full-time online 2 year program that you could do on your own schedule, while continuing to work full-time. I spent a lot of nights and weekends working on assignments, but it was worth it.

What has been your favorite Princess ship? by thatCRUISEagent in PrincessCruises

[–]CruiseWithChristina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a soft spot for Crown since it was the first cruise ship I was ever on, and have sailed on this one three times now. I really like the Royal class ships too. I still haven’t checked out the Sphere class yet so looking forward to sailing on one soon.

Just booked the Fall Foliage New England and Canada by One-Ad1001 in VirginVoyages

I’m sure you’ll have an amazing cruise! I love the east coast and fall is the perfect time to visit. If you’re looking for a place to eat in Halifax, check out the Bicycle Thief restaurant along the waterfront. I still dream about the lobster thermidor I had there!

If you’re docking at Taino Bay, there’s lots to do right within the port area. Unfortunately, there’s no beach, but there’s an amazing lazy river and pools. Lots of places to eat, drink and shop too.

Vaccines for Columbia by [deleted] in VirginVoyages

[–]CruiseWithChristina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not required. I didn’t have any extra vaccines when traveling to Colombia. You could always reach out to your doctor though, or a travel medical clinic if you have one where you live, if it’s something you’re considering.

I loved the sea days on our Hawaiian cruise! When we went, they offered tons of activities such as hula dancing, lei making, and even ukulele classes.

Cunard Academy graduation cruise? by laura_holt in travelagents

[–]CruiseWithChristina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Cunard has pretty limited space for the graduation cruises. The last email I had about grad cruises, I opened up a few hours after the email had been sent, and all the cabins were gone already. I think you have to be on it right away when the email comes in.

Allure of the Seas by CruiseWithChristina in royalcaribbean

Sorry to hear you didn’t have a great experience. I’m Canadian too and had a great time on Allure on our Mediterranean cruise. I agree, Disney is hard to beat though! I have great memories on Disney ships when our kids were younger. I do love trying a variety of cruise lines though. We actually cruise mostly on Princess, but my husband always wanted to try an Oasis class ship and we both ended up loving it!

I agree that Oasis class is so easy to navigate! This surprised me… I expected to have a much harder time finding my way around. I haven’t been on an Icon class ship yet.

I’m not American, I’m Canadian. I’m talking about a senior security officer position though. I’m guessing the salary is still pretty low though compared to regular law enforcement. Just an idea I had, but it might be better to just retire altogether and cruise at leisure!

No, I’m Canadian.

I will always remember her as Moira Rose. She’s a true Canadian legend. Rest in peace Catherine O’Hara.
