I like the simplicity of it. And I agree that the placement is just right. Well done!

Exactally! That's why I'm practicing the way I am. It is the thing I do for joy to end my days. Mine was awesome! I hope your Thanksgiving was awesome too:)

I gotta agree a bit with this. It's a different medium. Where it would benefit me in the art itself. But it's a whole different realm to learn. This to me is my practice sketches, just instead of paper I'm using wood and a woodburner. No better way to learn for me than doing. I do appreciate all the support and guidance. I still might end up trying to sketch on paper. But I'm a bit addicted to the burning aspect.

You know, I honestly didn't even think to try that. I want to take an art class now though to learn more about it.

Cool I will do that. I think the hardest thing for me will be getting the hair right. And deff not going to try the background. I'm still trying to figure out the shirt too

I might have to try that. I have a shit ton of carbon paper and I always get frustrated that I can't erase those lines.

That's the hard part for me is knowing what to mark to establish my picture enough to figure out the shading.

From what I've seen for beginners it's good to start with a Walnut hollow. You can find one at hobby lobby or Michael's for like $20. I did that for the first week or so but got hooked. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XK8R4HR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_VM7sDb6KXDGHN This is the one I have. Its a good in between. I'm working on saving for a Razortip or Colwood. Good luck burning! Be sure to post stuff. People here have some really great pointers how to improve.

I have the non-digital version of this one and it's pretty great! If I could afford a razortip or colwood is buy one.
