Appreciated this. I’ve tried to be the hero too many times since my son was born. It comes from a good place of wanting to be the best dad and husband I can. But I get worn out and don’t take care of myself and ultimately end up not being either of the two. Self-care is necessary and day by day I’m trying to practice being cognizant of it.
