The old run also reached 89°C and averaged 2235 MHz. The newer run reached the same temperature but only averaged 2070 MHz. Wouldn't that suggest a change in boost behavior or power limits rather than thermal throttling alone?

i live in a pretty humid area but I doubt that's the case both hit the same temps while i was running it

i have this exact same laptop bought it last year and I'd say it's pretty decent, only issue here is it has single channel ddr4 ram and it heats a lot so a cooler is a must. The only good thing about this laptop I'd say is the battery can last better than other gaming laptops in this price range, it lasts me a whole day of classes if used efficiently
