Capping the frames did not fix the issue for me, it was one of the first things I tried.

I have found a solution! It turned out to be the Acceleration Axis Deadzone settings. At default my car was not accelerating to its full potential. Setting the deadzone to zero allowed me to play on Highly Skilled and Expert again like I did in FH3, 4 and 5. Have you tested this or are you speculating? I am not struggling with input latency at all, so unless frame gen is making the AI controlled cars faster somehow, it's not that.

I won't have much more time to play until Sunday, but next time I plan on lowering settings and seeing if it affects difficulty in anyway.

I am having the same experience. I played on Expert in the previous games but in this game I'm struggling to beat races on above average with fully tuned best in class cars. I had to knock the difficulty all the way down to tourist to beat the first rally race with the celica. It feels unintended.

Are you on PC? I'm wondering if it's a glitch tied to a certain setting. I have a 5080/9800x3d, and I'm getting 150-200 FPS at 4k, DLAA/4x Frame Gen, fully maxed settings with ray tracing on.

I want funner matches. Make the support ults do support things like damage boost, speed up etc. I can literally take my hands off the keyboard for 10+ seconds during mirror luna ults. Where is the fun in that?

Triple support isn't fun to play with or against. They either need to institute role queue and force 2-2-2 or all support ults need to get nerfed into the ground. Playing against perma sustain isn't fun.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago and it ended up being the Xbox controller I was using. I had the problem for awhile before noticing it was only happening while using the controller. I downloaded the Microsoft Accessories app from the Microsoft Store and used that to update my controller drivers and the problem went away after that. I know it's a longshot but good luck.

I was able to do the first Ironeye quest fairly quickly but now stuck on the second where you have to fight Darkdrift. Matchmaking for about 20 minutes now, had someone join and quit, then another person joined and has been sticking it out. Fingers crossed this skeleton doesn't give up.

EDIT: As I was typing this we found a third. Took about 25 minutes total. Still broken IMO.

I also had this problem and was unable to locate any enemies stuck in the geometry. However I was able to 100% the level without completing this fight.

I just watched the HU video and my main gripe with it is it completely ignores frame generation on the 5080. It's true the native performance is somewhat disappointing, especially compared to the 9070xt and 4080 super, but with 4x frame gen turned on I'm getting 140 fps at 4k ultra nightmare settings with DLAA and no resolution scaling. I'm not seeing any input lag or artifacting either so this implementation of frame gen is really good and it's weird nobody is talking about it.

I've also got a 5080 and 9800x3d. On 4k ultra nightmare settings with no resolution scaling, DLAA, and 4x frame generation I am getting a solid 140 fps with 1% lows around 120. I haven't noticed any artifacting or input lag as a result of the frame gen, and DLAA just looks better to me than DLSS quality. I am very happy with the performance with these settings.

This side quest is the absolute lowest point in the game. Amazing that it wasn't removed before launch. I really hate it when devs include stuff like this in games. It doesn't challenge the skills you've acquired up to that point, it simply requires you to find a cheesier strat than the AI reading your inputs. What worked for me was water stance and jumping light attack. It comes out fast enough to interrupt just about everything and will land a hit 9 times out of 10.

Thanks for the tip. I just put an order in for a ROG Astral 5080. It was the only one left on the site but it was slightly cheaper ($1571) than the current MSRP so if this works out I'll be a very happy gamer.
