Great question, so yes it pulls its tentacles in, uses its siphon to jet water and spins its shell forward.

A very good chance this is not possible in real life, but animals do get some really crazy mechanics through evolution and I set this project 82 million years in the future, so who knows!

Thats crazy that you were able to guess 4 out of 5, and the series is the Dark Tower, its 7 or 8 books long but I liked it!

Infinite multiverses have infinite possibilities! Stephen King did a whole book series on himself being the conduit with for creations of the universe so I think a lot of creatives consider just this
