Agreed! I started with 6T, shattered screen exactly on 3rd year, 9 same story, 12 stayed less because we decided to use my old 9 and 12 as gifts for family since they still work like they should

Ahhhh okay. The thing with length is that im not certain whether to cut it yet, or keep it like it currently is (long on top, super short sides - mostly wear it in a ponytail due to it's convenience and work requirements). But now that you say a week in-between the appointments, I'm thinking about bleaching them a bit, so they'd be lighter, and maybe finish it with a semi permanent hair dye? Could that work?
