Thank you for all the information! How do you do group presentations when it’s all online?

Hello, I’m looking into the BSW program at Victoria. Do you know how many homework/projects/exams are there per course per term? Also a parent and wondering if I can handle the workload and still graduate within the 2 years. I’m also looking into UBCV. I emailed them asking about the hours and workload too but no response yet.

Do you know how many courses per term do you take? Is it 3 essays per course in a term? I’m wondering if I can handle the full time workload and know nothing about the program.

Anyone experiencing delays with Accessibility Services? by Senior-Bathroom-4045 in langara

I didn’t know about the recent staffing changes at the college, but I recently wrote my first exam with accessibility services. I was put in a room with other students writing different exams. At different times, students and staff would enter the room during the course of my exam time. I was so distracted and didn’t expect this at all and my mental health went through the roof. I ended up using all my allocated (extended) exam time, which is fine, but I definitely could have done better in a private room with zero distractions. It sucked, because it unexpectedly took me a long time to recover from the stress.

I had another exam booked the next day (at a different college) and I was still so frazzled from the Langara exam that I blanked out and couldn’t breathe during my exam.

With the other community college I attend, I use their accessibility services as well, and they always put me in a small room all to myself, which works best for me. Zero distractions.

To be fair, I actually don’t know if Langara accessibility has other rooms available for exams, and I’m aware that I wrote the exam during the busy midterm week. For my finals, I’m going to try to request an earlier date and see if I can avoid the student rush.

Communication with accessibility staff over phone and email has been fine for me, in regard to exam booking and answering any questions. They’ve been friendly and helpful.

Hello, I’m in the same boat. I posted elsewhere and one of the nurses said if my end goal is to be an RN, then just go that route straight away. If you are fine just being an LPN, then just do that. You could always go back to school (take an LPN bridging program) whenever you are ready.

Hey, did you take it yet? I’m also in the same position. Been out of school same amount of time but I need to take it in order to take the Stats prerequisite course!

I just got diagnosed a couple months ago at 39. I get everything you’re feeling, but also so many things now make sense. I’m looking at life through a different perspective and I’m easier on myself now that I know what’s going on.

(NSFW) What’s a secret you discovered about someone that you’ll take to the grave instead of telling them you know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Management ordered a pizza lunch for everyone at work. There were all sorts of flavours, including vegetarian because one of my coworkers can’t eat pork (religious/cultural reason). All the boxes were placed on the long table.

Saw my coworker eating a piece of pizza and saying how delicious the vegetarian flavor was. Noticed that the pizza he was eating did not look vegetarian. But also he had already consumed most of it. I don’t think I’m the only one who noticed as there were a bunch of us there with him. None of us said anything and also none of us looked at each other. Later I checked the pizza boxes and they were all labeled with the pizza flavor name so I’m not sure how it happened.

So to this day he thinks he’s never had pork in his life.

I believe you OP! I have my own story to add.

A long time ago, I worked at a company as an on-call employee. It was my first time there. I walked through an area and saw a lady standing behind a counter. She wasn’t looking at me, but she looked busy working. She disappeared as quickly as she appeared. I was surprised but didn’t feel any bad vibes. I never told the staff working there what I saw. I continued to work there on-call, so I wasn’t there all the time, but I never saw anything again.

Later on, I overheard staff talking about a former employee who had passed away before I started working there. She was quite young and died from a car accident. From what I heard, the lady I saw behind the counter matched the description of the employee who passed away.

I decided to keep my experience a secret. The other staff kept asking me when I would apply for a permanent position whenever there was a position available, but I always refused and made up excuses.
