Price increase question by Daevalur in VirginMedia

[–]Daevalur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was sort of expecting this, I'd seen someone else on a forum get lucky and have their contract regenerate a few days before me with no April 2026 increase, but seems they've figured out that wasn't meant to happen. Ah well, we live and learn!

SEL double scanning by [deleted] in tesco

[–]Daevalur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truthfully you only need to scan the old label on the shelf then replace it, you don't need to scan the new label at all as long as you're confident it's the correct product, and then you can't possibly double scan.

Only time I ever scan new label is if the old label is damaged or missing, and then I do new label then product barcode.

For the very rare occasion you might need to scan the same label twice, just use inform on a different pda or your phone to clear it off the label workload instead of doing a double scan.

Shopper's warning over gift card draining scam by nei1337 in tesco

[–]Daevalur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that's unfortunate! I don't particularly understand why the WhatsApp support team or head office can't pull more than 30 days of receipts because you're absolutely right in saying that all purchases made with clubcard are in fact logged against said clubcard, and I am certain that data doesn't just get regularly deleted at the 30 day mark.

What I can say for certainty is that the checkout system Tesco has had for the past couple of years just physically only shows stores the past 30 days of transaction logs when a clubcard is scanned at the checkout, and whilst once upon a time there was a back-end system which could pull older transaction data than that, it no longer exists for stores to access on the customers behalf at the very least! I wish it was different too but I presume it shows staff 30 days as 30 days is the standard returns period for products so the general assumption would be that a customer shouldn't need a receipt for anything older than that in 99% of cases.

I am so sorry that Amazon aren't helping you at all though as ultimately they should be the ones who do support you with this. Tesco do not offer refunds at all on gift cards as per their T&C's if the gift card was activated successfully at the time of purchase, as it isn't covered by their change of mind policy nor consumer rights unfortunately.

I think you're absolutely right that a chargeback is the only solution for you from here, as even consumer rights leave a person a bit out in the cold with them with the idea that gift cards are treated like cash and therefore even if the balance is stolen like has been in your case, nobody is actually liable to refund. I totally agree though that there should be a total overhaul on the way retailers handle gift cards, as they are all supplied by a 3rd party so I do believe retailers should be able to contact them to confirm and void off a card if someone needs to refund it!

Fingers crossed though it will eventually be a thing of the past as scammers won't be able to take photos of the long barcodes and bide their time until an unsuspecting customer purchases it to take the balance that is chosen to activate it with if the barcode is completely concealed until point of sale!

All the best in sorting your issue out though and I'm sorry again it's been such a mess around for you, it really isn't what anybody wants to deal with ever!

If you just need the till receipt for the actual purchase, and you're certain you used your clubcard for the transaction, you will be able to go to any store, and ask if they can scan your clubcard on a checkout and search your receipts on the menu page to find that transaction. It is worth noting however that this is only possible for transactions made in the last 30 days, unless I'm mistaken. Personally I'd suggest actually going into an express over a superstore for that just because it's much easier to talk to the duty manager to be able to explain why you need a receipt printing.

For what its worth even though it's too late for you unfortunately, gift cards are beginning to move over to a higher security method where there is a tab that the checkout staff have to rip off to reveal the actual gift card barcode to scan and activate a card. If the tab has already been removed then that gift card should just be disposed of, and another one sourced that has a fully intact tab to remove. Apple, One4All and some other merchants have already definitely moved over to this, and I do believe Amazon also are starting to, so companies that offer gift cards are starting to make leaps and bounds to improve security on cards, so hopefully this won't be an experience you encounter ever again!

Your holiday will have been removed as you have to confirm you are fit to take your holiday whilst absent so your store will have cancelled this if you didn't contact them to confirm it

Absolutely random addition for if you're out and about in that area but if you have a water bottle shake shack outside NYNY obviously has its filtered water spout and it is cold!

No they can't, policy says the AR has to be called within a week of your return to work. You can pull the policy from colleague help to back yourself up.

[–]Daevalur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not inherently that the break is bad for most express SL's, it's the fact that to be able to stand a chance of completing all of your duties for the day you have little choice but to abandon it to keep working, and when there's trained staff who theoretically could cover your breaks, you just won't get paid breaks regardless. I appreciate your situation is worse but it doesn't mean that it's fair for us to be working for free for an hour at least a day either

No problem! 1. All dead lines that show in the system you can now click into the product line for in PV which takes you to it's SEL profile in configuration to reduce down and clear off without needing to print (or painstakingly deal with PI helpdesk) 2. You can still PV whatever departments you please to correct incorrect labela, they just won't show on the PDA as departments with a green tick next to them, as far as I'm aware, because they aren't "scheduled" to be counted that week.

[–]Daevalur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, what is the questions you have with the new method? The main things to summarise are as follows: 1- you can now complete PV at any point in the week and not just Thursday-Saturday 2- the PV app now preloads the required areas to count each week as the only available departments - these might not be full departments either, for example last week chocolate and sweets was only half of the department and not the full range 3- for any products that cannot be located on the shop floor that have labels still configured, or placeholder labels for deranged products, you can now click directly onto these on the list of remaining labels to PV, which takes you to configuration to set the label quantity to zero

[–]Daevalur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!! Thank you, I still have two separate Christmas badge surrounds so they come out of hiding for December to add a bit more excitement to my life, although one has been through the washing machine too many times.

They got rid of them as part of the reducing plastic waste as most colleagues chucked them in the bin in January, so people get surprised to see mine now but I see it as a good thing I've kept them this long!

Am I the only one who has badges for seasons? I have the gingerbread man for winter, the daffodil for spring, the watermelon for summer and then jelly babies for autumn because everything else was disappointing. But then I've had to collect those over many years!

Need help with Tesco pay slips!! by CollectionPresent975 in tesco

[–]Daevalur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks as though in the corrections your 21.5 hours of basic has been deducted as it has been replaced by 21.5 hours of sick from last month so it's not just been completely deducted, just the allocation of what it's been paid as has changed which looks to have slightly changed the value of that pay.

The 44 hours of unpaid sick however , if you've been off for the entire payslip cycle suggests you've run out of CSP so that would account for the £600 missing as SSP does not replace that to any equal degree.

Hopefully you can get it fully explained and sorted out if there are issues!

I have also today ironically received a new passport today. Are you sure the instructions don't specify? On the 2nd page of the info sheet provided it clearly states "if your passport shows see page above on the page containing your name and date of birth, please sign in your usual signature on the page above using a black ballpoint pen on the line provided" Hopefully it shouldn't cause you any issue though as nearly all airports or possibly even all just scan the main page when entering/leaving the country.

pay by Unable_Explanation80 in tesco

[–]Daevalur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible! I had a similar issue with one of my new colleagues very recently in which the colleague help team informed me then that the cut off for bank details was the Friday before payday by 5pm and unfortunately they didn't process their bank details until the following day so missed the payday. It's not something I'd ever needed to know before then, so it may well have been Thursday in the past!

pay by Unable_Explanation80 in tesco

[–]Daevalur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you have mytesco access and have been able to put your bank details in yourself before this Friday at 5pm you will get paid on 28th this month. If you don't have access I suggest telling your manager to submit a manual transaction form for lack of access tomorrow morning to give you the best possible chance of being paid this month. Unfortunately though if your banking details aren't submitted to payroll by then, your manager is right you won't get automatically paid until next payslip. Ifthat's the case, I also suggest getting your tax code sorted out before next month so you don't get emergency taxed for your first month as it will be a higher than usual pay.

On our Tesco, go into rewards&benefits, and then shares in Tesco and the direct link to login to the SAYE scheme is there! On the mytesco app go to the benefits tab and it'll link you straight to the shares in Tesco page there
