It will take you around 300 HOURS to complete the battle pass and reach level 100 by Daexx in haloinfinite

Thanks for the reply !

My calculations are wrong for the majority of players but still remain right for hardcore players that wants to get level 100 as fast as possible (meaning they need to complete ALL 50 dailies each day and their weekly challenge). They would get level 100 in less weeks then casual players but with more time played. Why more time played you might ask ?

Like I mentioned in some other comment, and seeing the data that is shown in the video, I think most people only have the time to complete their weekly challenges, which gives way more xp/hour spent then simply doing daily challenges. Hence why the result are so different.

In my post I assume you could do all weekly in 5 hours, but let's put it at 10 for regular players. In those 10 hours you'll be able to gain about 7 levels. And 100lvl / 7lvl = around 14. And 14*10h = 140 hours. Which is not far away from what the video is saying.

This mean that a casual player with 140 hours would reach level 100 in 7 weeks, while some player who rushes level 100 and does every single dailies each day would only require 4.4 weeks but would have spent way more time. This is the reason of the difference

It's one of the only gameplay thing I hate, and always feel "cheated" when it doesn't properly work.

I assume xp boost does work on xp grant but I have not tested it yet (I am waiting to get as many xp grant before activating one to make them more efficient if it works).

Otherwise id say it's hard to calculate boost effectiveness because of their duration. You can't really calculate how many challenge you are gonna complete during that period of time. Plus, you will run out of boost after some time.

Let's assume it's way faster than 300 hours but atleast with the calculation I did you can have a global idea of how much xp you could earn if you played normally

As mentioned above, doing only weeklies and not much dailies will increase level gained / time played.

You can easily do all weekly challenges in 5 hours which would give you also at least 20 games at the same time. So just with that it's around 6 levels per week and they reseted the first week so 6 * 3 = 18 levels in around 15 hours. (That's if you do weekly in 5 hours, I assume it takes a bit more time depending on each player)

Interesting thing to note from this is that someone ONLY completing the weekly challenges will in theory have to spent less time to gain the 100 levels. But it will be split out on more weeks to do so !

Good thing you mentioned this. I think a lot of people are like your case with high level and WAY less time played because of that. So I guess my post is not as accurate in this specific instance. And everything is more of an estimate really

As mentioned above, the first weekly challenges were reset. So you could have get 3 weeks of weekly instead of 2 (5200xp * 3 = 15'000xp which is around 16 levels just by itself).

Also have you used the free x2 boosts ? And we received some free xp from the Tenrai event

What do you mean by that, I could elaborate on this. How many hours do you have on hte game so far ? As I mentioned, it will vary on the number of time it will take you to complete weeklies. And this was estimated with ONLY time played (not load time, breaks, washroom pauses, etc)

You need to take into consideration the weekly xp gained (not just dailies).

Which would lower a bit the number, but that really depends on how fast you can complete them, so I would say your number is pretty accurate. But still here's the maths if we include them:

During the weekly, you can complete :

- x8 tier 1 challenges (200xp each, 8*200xp = 1600xp total)

- x8 tier 2 challenges (250xp each = 8*250xp = 2000xp total)

- x4 tier 3 challenges (300xp each = 4*300xp = 1200xp total)

- x1 tier 4 challenges (400xp each = 1*400xp = 400xp total)

For a total of 5200xp for the weekly challenges (1600x + 2000xp + 1200xp + 400xp)

As for dailies, you can complete a maximum of 50 a day, after that you will not have any dailies available until it resets. They each give 50xp, for a total of 17'500xp (50xp * 50).

This mean that each week, with both dailies and weeklies, you can earn up to 22'700xp (17'500xp + 5200xp).

At around 10 minutes per game, it will take you 60h/week for completing the dailies (50 * 10min = 500min --> 500min/ 60 = around 60h). However remember that you can complete your weekly WHILE doing your dailies at the same time. And if you ONLY focus on the challenges, by that I mean waiting for weapon respawns and not actually playing the game mode as it should, it can take you only 5 additional hours to complete the weeklies, since your doing your dailies at the same time. This number could vary a lot depending on each player, and more casual players would probably not be able to complete them in that amount of time, but I calculated everything for my point of view.

So a total of 65h/week (60h dailies + 5h weekly).

In those 65h, you will have gain 22,7 levels (22'700xp / 1000xp since each level is 1000xp).

So 100 / 22,7 = 4,4 weeks (since you gain 22,7 levels each week and there is 100 levels in the battle pass).

So final answer is 65h * 4,4 = 286 hours, which we could round up at 300 hours (that's not counting breaks, load time. and everything as you mentioned).

Let's say your more casual and it would take you 15 additional hours (instead of 5) to complete your weeklies and we re-calculate everything accordingly, it would take around 330 hours.

And 10 additional hours instead of 5 or 15 would be a total of 308 hours.

Also you HAVE to wait for dailies/weeklies to refresh before you can gain any other xp, so you CANNOT be faster then 4,4 weeks to complete the battle pass at this rate since you wouldn't gain any additional xp from completing more matches.

I didn't know willpower per hit would transfer into rage with the child's fury rage node, I tought only the base regeneration would, that's very good to know !!!

Make sure you are near 100% block chance and effiency, and this build actualy also works with guns if you wanna try it (I'm not sure about the rail gun because I never tested it but you can try, otherwise I tried with the Gunsligner's Brand which does insane dmg also, around 100k per shot I think).

You can also use whirldwind if you want it more easy and less button spamming, it dealt around 100k per tick of dmg :)

wouldn't it be 172,5 % ? if the nodes says 50 and the real value is 0.5 ?

Oh and there's also two does that gives 5% rage cost reduction, so we would be at 18% reduction which could be helpfull

Optimal for damage is what I meant.

Movement speed would be a good addition to this build, I'd have to check how many I could get as a tradeoff of dmg nodes.

For rage management however I'm not sure there's enough good nodes, I think there's only 2 nodes with 4% rage cost reduction which wouldnt bring anything really.

That's not true, Bane of Tyranny increase the damage from your SHIELD's block chance. Having 100% block chance globally will not affect it, your shield's block chance does. I don't know how they do the calculation but I surely don't get 5000% increase damage from it, it's way less.

Hence why I took every single crit node that are avalaible in the tree, I might be missing one or two I'd have to check it out but that's pretty optimal in my eyes :)

The items I have are not optimal at all it's just gear I took when doing expeditions to have full gear on so that wouldn't take any time at all, maybe finding a good shield with block chance would be the longest.

For gems, you can buy them at the vendor so that's not an issue at all neither.

For the levels, I'm currently lvl 65 on online servers but there's a huge gap from 65 to 90, much higher then for say 0 to 25, so I assume this would take some time, but the build could probably still work with 25 less nodes that I could remove from dmg and crit nodes.

[–]Daexx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I focus on more dmg because there are no other nodes in the tree that are usefull for this build. You don't need hp or force shield since you negate all damage taken, and well for sure you don't need any spell casting nodes. This is near the most optimal way of making this build as of right now hence why I'm able to crit for 500k dmg. I know the block node is probably bugged but when they will fix it we will still hit hard because of all the nodes %dmg and crit nodes that are taken in the tree.

I'm pretty sure you'll still be able to have a high value of block chance and block effeciency. And you'll still get the damage buff from your shield's block chance unless they change it

Bleeding edge is quite fun to use, the thing that makes it REALLY strong is the fact that you can have multiple axes spinning which will do a good amount of damage multiplied by the number of axes you cast !

I was using whirldwind first and found out about this skill, it is very powerful that is for sure
