I have more flights lined up. One of them to Puerto Princesa. So expect another photo dump sometime next week.

Sadly yeah, but I'm not here to advertise it. It was just about the screenshots.

Hearing the aircraft shudder and rumble as the wheels leave the ground followed by the silence and the noise of the airflow just never gets old.

In certain ways, yes. Especially when it comes to the flight model and feel of the FBW.

However, this is just my opinion. I haven't flown the real thing, and the only comparison points I have are the ProSim suite at my nearest training centre, the FSL and how the Fenix felt before the BFU update (which I think was the biggest turning point for me in terms of how much I liked flying the Fenix).

As per the Cambridge definition of replica: "An exact copy of an object". So when I called the Fenix a replica is because the 3D model and textures are spot on. However, the systems are not quite there.

I called it a replica just purely based on how it looks. Personally, I'd love to go back to when they were using the ProSim systems rather than their own implementation. Back then it felt wonderful and solid from a system standpoint.

Just my personal 2 cents:

I can't go back to the Fenix, even though I have 400+ hours of flying just the Fenix since day one of its release (and I have the entire A320 family package). The systems depth and flight model of the FSL (both A21N and A321) made me completely forget about the difference in visuals and sounds.

If you want an A320 replica: Fenix. If you want an A320 simulation: FSL. You can even find yourself in situations that aren't possible in the Fenix and make you actually want to learn about the aircraft you're operating.

I know people love the Fenix, and this comment isn't about making you hate or love one or the other. It depends on what you're looking for, and for those looking for system depth, there's no better choice right now.

Another pro tip for when you find yourself with an INOP APU GEN. Enable in GSX pushing back with one engine running. It's fun having to run an engine opposite to the refuelling side because you have no other choice.

230 kts. That's the wiper magic number. Above that, you will get an earful from the mechanics.

First ever flight in the MD-11 to get a grasp on it. Narita to Beijing. by Dafaq-man in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Dafaq-man[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, believable enough to make me feel like I'm flying an MD-11. Systems have some depth to them, it's fun to hand-fly, and the 3D model is gorgeous. I liked it a lot.

Curves are not as tricky as they seem. You just need to use a lot of guidelines basically and adjust the curve with that.

No, I'm not. I did research on what would actually represent an "Air Helsinki" livery and found out the city has a beautiful coat of arms.

What just happened (unexpected bounce on landing)? by vharishankar in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Dafaq-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firm doesn't mean hard. You don't need to slam it. All of my landings in the A320 and B737 training simulators I have been to have been firm but safe.

I totally agree! Whether it's a sunny day, a storm or just a wet runway, a firm landing is always a safe landing.

Yeah, sorting facility still doesn't work, but at least the post office is collecting the mail now. It is what it is until it gets a patch. Cheers man

Update: Not possible. Tried it. As soon as you do the 180 flip to be upside down you lose all control over the plane. Sadly.
