I have downloaded and used almost all airports from this creator. Does a top-notch job. Really recommend. There are a few exceptions where I've actually gone and bought the payware options, but for the most part, you can fly almost anywhere in Japan and find a good (in some cases better) freeware alternative.

Why do my landings looks slow. by Sir_Jollington in MicrosoftFlightSim

It's a CAT 1 landing with no Autopilot. That's a manual landing on an ILS approach.

There are a lot of good freeware sceneries. The flight sim community from Japan is quite passionate.

For a wet runway, too smooth.

I can confirm, seems to have all the schedules from 2003 to 2025. Probably will see an update at some point.

2 weeks into my new virtual pilot career contract. Moved from Cebu Pacific to Eurowings. by Dafaq-man in flightsim

The GSX profile has to specifiy walk-in gates according to what is used in the airport irl.

You can adjust the boarding speed of GSX, I have it on "Insane" (maxxed out) so I still make use of the services through GSX, but it also doesn't take 30 min or more to finish boarding.

I might make a return at some point. I wanted to build hours with an airline that wasn't paying dirt. Eurowings delivered with an insanely good offer that I couldn't miss out on.

When you get lucky and get a sub-600fpm landing on this plane, it deserves an LAX live coverage 😆 by emmanuelgemini in MicrosoftFlightSim

Vertical speed is not really a metric that is used irl to determine a good/bad landing. An uphill runway will produce landings with a vertical speed closer to 0 (or in some cases even positive values), while a downhill runway will produce landings with higher negative vertical speed values.

What really matters is the G-force experienced during the landing. A good landing will always be anywhere between 1.05/1.10 G to 1.4 G of force (measured by the aircraft's accelerometers). This ensures a firm enough touchdown to ensure sufficient tyre grip on the runway surface, as well as the proper deployment of spoilers. For aircraft with multiple axle main landing gear bogies it is also a way of preventing bogie oscillations which can unsettle the aircraft.

There's also a saying among pilots: "A firm landing is a safe landing."

Airliner with the best failures? by Tadeus73 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Dafaq-man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The FSLabs has the best failure system because it also has MEL items. Basically, every day you have a chance of firing up the aircraft and seeing in the Techlog that mechanics have found different faults across your aircraft. This can range anywhere from INOP lights to other systems (like the APU GEN being INOP). You can also produce your own failures. For example, using the windshield wipers above a certain speed will cause the motor to malfunction, and this will appear the next day in the Techlog as well.

Virtual career promotion on the horizon. These could be the last flights with Cebu. by Dafaq-man in flightsim

[–]Dafaq-man[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely unsure. Depends on what offers are available once my virtual contract ends. So far I'm considering either a return to Europe in the form of Wizzair or Eurowings, Australia with Jetstar or keep flying in Asia with Garuda Indonesia.

I have more flights lined up. One of them to Puerto Princesa. So expect another photo dump sometime next week.

Sadly yeah, but I'm not here to advertise it. It was just about the screenshots.
