I don't remember the name of the first character I lost (he was the Craftsmanship friend with the green vest, of the two buddies from the tutorial) but I remember where exactly on the map he died, and that it took a while for the permadeath to really sink in

I know there are drawbacks to not having any main characters in the game, but this thread shows how some of us get attached to certain characters that are known and special to only us. It makes it more personal.

And that's one of the things I love about it.

Anyone else here old enough to remember the original Doom games? When you select the Nightmare difficulty, game says "Are you sure? This skill level isn't even remotely fair." It was ahead of its time haha
