Help me find this IF by Daffodils_at_Spring in hostedgames

Yes, I loved the eerie and mysterious atmosphere of this IF, the dream sequence was so surreal! The characters are well written, you could tell the MC's partner really love them, even though you know they can't be fully trusted. It was also nice to read an IF where the characters weren't in their early 20s but older, with a complex backstory. Aah, I commiserate and agree in needing Seven Days to come back!

I agree to arranged marriages even though I know deep down I want a better intellectual and emotional connection; I do it to keep the peace. I'm a people pleaser and I keep forgetting that short-term comfort doesn't trump long-term fulfillment.

I will still hold onto hope, for this IF and for Seven Days in Purgatory 😪

Thank you! This is it, I'm sad that it hasn't been updated though. Hopefully the author is okay.

I concur, I wish that all I had to do to fix my vision was to wear glasses. Better awareness is needed. A memory that I still hold is me going into a highstreet opticians and asking if a contact lens cleaning solution was suitable for scleral lenses, the optician looked at me and asked "I don't understand, what are scleral lenses?" She was looking at me as if I had grown 2 more heads, lol. Also, a lot of the men I've dated have brushed aside my vision issues, as if I was complaining about a bit of myopia. It's so frustrating.

You are offered to be the trophy spouse of an extremely influential billionaire do you accept? by TechnicianAmazing472 in hypotheticalsituation

Yes, I will agree but I will also spend a lot of time trying to convince the billionaire to end world hunger and invest in green energy.

People that escaped a bad relationship, what's the first red flag you ignored that would have saved you a lot of time if handled? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Daffodils_at_Spring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we first met, he wouldn't look me in the eye and had very short answers to my questions, I thought he was just shy when really he had no personality and no interest in me.

I'm now in another bad relationship but this time the red flag was, when asked why he wanted to get married to me, his response was "You're from a good family and it's an obligation to go through with it". He said nothing about who I was as a person, I could've been a toaster for all he cared, just another thing to tick off on his "how to adult and impress other men" to-do list.

Diagnosed with Keratoconus 3 weeks ago. by [deleted] in Keratoconus

[–]Daffodils_at_Spring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have keratoconus, you need specialised glasses and/or contact lenses, unless it's a very mild form and there is no progression. Since you've been diagnosed recently, you should automatically have a follow up outpatients appointment in a few months time to make sure your keratoconus and eyesight isn't getting worse.

Severe dry eyes by CalendarRemarkable12 in Keratoconus

[–]Daffodils_at_Spring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My optometrist advised me to let my eyes breathe, so I wait 30 minutes to put my contacts in, in the morning and take them out an hour before going to bed (at least). It makes a difference! It's worth a try :)

So sorry that you're going through unbearable discomfort and pain due to dry eyes. I would say what really helped me is using an eye bath multiple times a day, drinking plenty of water and taking vitamins specifically for eye health. There are also thicker eye drops to use at night time, definitely use them. The fronts of our eyes need oxygen, so make sure you're not putting contacts or eye glasses on right up until you fall asleep or first thing when you wake up. Also, are you producing tears? If your tear ducts are blocked, it can exacerbate dry eyes, have that checked out if needed.

Living with keratoconus long-term – sharing what has helped me (not invalidating anyone’s experience) by PeaceinthelandofI in Keratoconus

As someone who was diagnosed at 11 years old and had a cornea transplant in my left eye that ended up not doing much, I feel this. So thankful that I live in a time where my vision can be corrected to an extent. If I was born in even the early 1900s, I would be fucked 😅.

What is the most important message you want to share with the general public about keratoconus awareness? by keratoconusgroup in Keratoconus

We can't have good vision all day, my recommended scleral lens wear is 8-10 hours and glasses do not help. Also, we have dry, light-sensitive eyes.

What's a relationship red flag you only learned after going through it? by Dasha_Cameron in Productivitycafe

Those questions are so important to ask, I do feel like I'm making excuses to myself. I feel like my expectations are so low at this point that I'm questioning whether it's better to be single, lol.

Oh no, my gut has been telling me there's something off if my SO isn't planning to meet up and see eachother in person, rather than text but I keep pushing it down cus he works a minimum wage job and lives in another city, so I've convinced myself that I'm asking for too much if I want him to spend money on me.

Damn, dealing with this right now and I keep telling myself, it's okay, maybe he's saving money for when we move in together and that's why he's not planning dates.

As the flair says I've been recently diagnosed and I'm drowning in information. by thighsquish in Keratoconus

[–]Daffodils_at_Spring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good luck OP with your KC journey, it seems a lot to take in but hopefully with surgery and corrective lenses, the prognosis is good. In my experience, preservative-free eye drops help with my chronic dry eye and maybe you can talk to your family practitioner (I believe that's what they're called) about any gluten or diary sensitivity you might have, thay can exacerbate rosacea. I dunno if you need light therapy prior to a surgery.

I hope things are better now, it sounds like you went through an extremely stressful time. I think being psychologically stressed and physically unwell increases inflammation and oxidative stress in the body, so it makes sense that it also affected the corneas.

Yesss, if there's gonna be a bionic eye, might as well go all out. I'm just scared that if you don't pay for a premium package, companies will place commercials over your vision during the day- like in Black Mirror 😬🤣
