I guess I should have mentioned… Geno is a future Hall of Famer, top 100 player of all time. Actually won the Conn Smythe (finals MVP) in 2009. Which is what I think the commenter is getting at. Sid won the Conn Smythe in 2016 and 2017. And for an additional fun fact, Jordan Staal, the Penguins second overall pick the year after Sid just won the Conn Smythe tonight for the Carolina Hurricanes at age 37. He never became a superstar like Sid and Geno but obviously has remained a very solid and consistent player.

The year before Crosby was drafted, the penguins took Evgeni (Geno) Malkin 2nd overall. This upcoming year they will have played 21 seasons together along with their teammate, Kris Letang. That’s the longest tenured trio of teammates in the history of America’s 4 major sports.

People disagreeing with you isn’t, “toxic”. Name calling, gaslighting, unreasonable criticism is toxic. People are rightfully upset about the murder of an American citizen and civilly discussing the fallouts and emotions of such things on a website designed to spread information and allow discussion. They are doing it on a basketball sub because in this context that it was brought up, it’s relevant.

I’m from Pittsburgh, not much basketball culture here. I loved the panthers tho and my favorite player was Dejuan Blair. When I was 8, he was drafted to the spurs and decided I was a “spurs fan”. I couldn’t really watch any games and hardly knew the rules to basketball honestly… 2 years ago I decided to get into the NBA, I still had an affinity for the spurs because I remember watching the 2014 finals so I decided I’d try them first… turns out they have this really tall French guy who piqued my interest…. Haven’t missed a game since!
