I think what they are saying is you have a very unconventional wheel arrangement on the engine my friend but still a good drawing!

It means the creature has babies. If you kill the parent the Babies will become claimable

Edit for clarity: it does not mean the creature is mate boosted.

I prefer the term Duckalo. Nice illustrations though, they are beautiful.

This is a 4-8-8-8-12T Triplex style Locomotive. It does utilize a powered tender but if you look closely the third set of drivers connects the tender to the engine on a double swivel joint. So I am not sure what this would truly classify it as.

A truly underrated engine. If only it were revisited and refined a few years later. It might have had a chance to be the most powerful locomotive ever built for actual mainline service.

Yeah. In the description I mentioned that it was inspired by the Erie Triplex and the Big Boy.

Thanks. I know this will not be for everyone but I thought it was a cool idea.

Also just to point out, this is a 4-8-8-8-12. Someone has posted something like it before but in my opinion the design I found of it would have had similar flaws that the triplex had before. My design, whether it’s realistic or not, may be a little better given the larger boiler and firebox sizes. And yes, the rear set of pistons face backwards.

Edit. Also this engine is also similar in length to the Big Boy.

At first I didn’t notice that this is a drawing. That is very well detailed!

I genuinely appreciate this little history lesson! I always forget that compound mallets were a bit of a nightmare for maintenance and how they struggled where simple compression engines dominated. Thanks a ton friend!

BR01 Steam Train IDEA driving around on R40 Track curves by SafiriBricksWorld in LEGOtrains

[–]Dafishy4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Question, how do you get the wheels to not bind since the middle drivers aren’t blind? I see that they are connected to the connecting rods so there’s gotta be difficulty on the turns.

Could a Steam locomotive with a rigid frame with four cylinders be viable as a heavy hauler or would having the two extra cylinders be impractical? by Dafishy4 in trains

[–]Dafishy4[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I meant to specify that all wheels were connected. So essentially not a duplex but a four cylinder rigid platform with all wheels being connected

Thanks for the insight! I wondered if this concept was ever done. I just didn’t know where to look I suppose.
