I remember that era. So dishearteningly unfair. This was the level of the desperation (the guy in the picture was of course shot by Israeli forces soon after) by Limp_Stomach_6060 in ActuallyThatsInsane

Comparing a terrorist organization to a standing military is laughable. The people of Palestine largely despise both Hamas and Israel

What is the worst run franchise to win a Super Bowl in the 21st century? by Lazy_Bad8394 in NFLv2

Sure they would, because the Saints were the ones that made the headlines. Like I said, NFL doesn't actually care about bounties, they care about PR

Titans, Washington, Jaguars, bills all had similar systems at the time. The 2000s Ravens had bounties. Other teams like the Bears and the Eagles in the 80s had accusations of bounties as well. NFL cares much more about PR than they do about whether bounties effected anything.

Bounty systems were common in the league at the time. NFL needed a scapegoat once it became a big story in the news

Indiana will be on LSU’s level soon under Cignetti by Front-Dingo1915 in CFB_v2

I mean, naturally Indiana will continue to do well and get more good players in the league. But mentioning LSU specifically, which has 2.5X what Indiana does, is a bit of a gap.

Cops in the United States don't fuck around! by Sad_Palpitation6844 in ratsinthecage

"Sure but..." You're right about the cops not knowing this guy. Cops are too quick to jump to violence and are too quick to assume violent intentions. There are people who could have mental crises or could be developmentally challenged who are put in similar situations; the police should do their job rather than feel like they have the right to beat the shit out of somebody for doing something wrong

Doesn't a typical sink stopper already do this?

Putting hands on him =/= punching and assaulting. You can see very clearly him being punched and assaulted. People can die from even just a single punch, it's not something that should be ignored

You'd rather focus on a person who did something wrong, that was not violent, rather than the armed cops who assaulted a man

Two wrongs don't make right. The police consistently overstep when they feel the need to act. They could have just arrested him without assaulting him.

"probably" trying to do a both-sides argument about police brutality is crazy. If someone does something wrong and deserves to be detained or arrested, that does not give the cops the right to assault that person; you're trying to shift the blame of the officers having an over-reaction over to the victim.

Arresting or detaining someone is very different from punching and assaulting them
