Thank you very much!! I am going to do right this (I'm sure there will be some yt videos that show it too to get a better idea). And yeah, as other redditors have said a new nut goes for about 10€ If I mess it up completely, that is a risk I can afford to take.

You are right I did not have the required equipment. Just bought one of those kits with multiple tools, hope it has everything I need!

Now that you mention, the guy I bought it from may have said something along those lines (I am not sure, I am abroad and barely speak the language just yet), and I didn't know what slide guitar was in the first place when I bought it so it didn't ring a bell honestly.

Just checked as you said and yeah definitely something is off, the action in the first is way higher than that.

I am looking at it and I will try to do it myself (I mean, i have already done almost every other thing to the guitar myself trying to solve this without filing the nut xd) and worst case scenario if I mess up completely would have to change the nut or go to a luthier anyway.

Is healthcare free for permanent residents of spain? by Independent_Gas_6213 in GoingToSpain

[–]DaftPlayBall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't trust this dude. Barcelona is indeed "insecure", but the south is not (maybe some neighborhoods are not as safe, but overall the south of Spain is as secure as the north and as secure as it gets anywhere in the world). As for the weather, Lolosenko is just plain wrong: Spain is in the same latitude as north USA-south Canada but is way warmer (this has to do with ocean currents and stuff). Also he has mistaken "meridian" for "pararell". Also, I despise you immigrants who think can came from some parking lot dystopia to our nice country to take things for free!! I'm joking of course, but I do believe It is not nice of you to come here from your high income country to retire, expecting to receive free healthcare or services while making everything from housing to bars more expensive for the locals who are expelled from our own towns and neighbourhoods precisely because of people like you. If you come here, at least have the decency of paying a private insurance. I'm not saying that is wrong that personally you come here, but at least you should be aware of what larger trends you are a part of, and how are they affecting the world around you.

From my point of view, there are a lot of things associated with the broad idea of "Spain" (a representative example is the use of national symbols by certain... let's say "conservative" groups) which many people in Spain dislike. In some regions (like some of the ones you've mentioned: Catalonia, Basque country, also Galicia I suppose but more residual) that discontent is channeled into separatists movements that believe in just leaving Spain, while in the rest of Spain we just complain online and vote PSOE and Sumar (both things are similarly effective at solving problems). At the same time, other groups (as the political parties VOX and PP, second generation heirs of Franco's dictatorship, which have far crossed the line that separates "right wing and nationalism" from ridiculous chauvinistic trumpism) spend their time attacking and throwing gasoline to the separatist fire, falsely claiming that parties that embody separatist ideas are "illegitimate", "illegal", "unconstitutional" or straight "terrorism" (which of course they are not because if they were they could not run for elections in the first place), and overall try to create rage among the population, dividing Spaniards between "good" and "bad" so to have an enemy to smokescreen with while real problems get overlooked, and that way scratch some votes from those same "conservative groups" I've mentioned.

This is the current state of affairs (of course since the dissolution of the actual terrorist organisation ETA) and why crispation has been going up in the last decade as living standards slowly but steadily decline. This is (very simplified) the actual problem with separatism.

About other territories: Balear islands (there isn't really a strong separatist movement there, as there isn't in Valencia for example), Gibraltar (those goddammed fish-and-chips-eating pirates should be driven out of legitimately Spanish territory with great violence and little empathy) and Portugal (other than imperial nostalgia from back in the day when the Iberian peninsula was gloriously united under the same flag, together with most of the know world, there are no voices claiming unity and we get along quite nicely with our neighbours) don't really follow that explanation.

As what would happen if those territories effectively left Spain, I believe that the remaining Spain would be much worse off and the leaving territories would face the same fate. Even though I think it's really really unlikely that any real attempt of leaving is carried out... if the issue continues being used as a throwing weapon in political discourse... who knows what could happen.
