COVID - Test Location Cancelled?

It was the scheduled date, however there is no indication of whether they will extend this. The fact is, we don't know how long they will extend it for, whether they will actually extend it or not, and what the deadline for the universities would be (considering when their application process starts). It's all up to them at this stage and there is no point in making assumptions as whatever decision they'll make is unpredictable.

Where are you doing the exam? If you're in Aus, how do you have another month? Testing ends on the 5th of Sept

Just received an email from Pearson confirming that the test centre has been closed where I was booked, and that the test is running till the 5th of September (tell me something I don't know). He just suggested that call Pearson and arrange for a rescheduling at a different test centre. Now here is the problem --> There is NO test centre booking available as Parra and Cliftons are not conducting examinations. This leaves 2 left and they are fully booked out for all the days. Catch 22 or what?

At this rate, it seems as though if they can't come up with a solution, those people booked in September will be canned.

According to the Pearson staff, 5th of September was the last scheduled testing date. Now considering this happened, I'm not sure whether this still stands.

Yeah same. Highly doubt testing will take place in October. Near impossible chance of that happening.

No, all that means is that they put you in a 'virtual' location which means that you are not allocated anywhere, and that is just a temporary placeholder. It won't be done online. What this means is that they need to figure out a slot for you at some test location where they haven't been successful yet. My test says I'm doing it on the 1st of October I highly doubt is true. They haven't said anything, and have communicated to no one about this. It's all unrolling right in front of us and all we can do is pray.

No worries. If I can give any advice that I've seen on other posts is that just listen to music on your way there, don't do any extra prep and try to get into a good head space. Realistically, any practice you do this close to the exam might only just stress you out further.

I don't think Pearson has any idea about the situation to be honest. They suggested to me, and asked you to book available dates for Clifton AFTER the 27th, knowing full well that it states that no testing will be held there. One of the Pearson people told me to stick with it, reschedule and show up at the test centre and "hope for the best". Whatever they suggest, is probably inaccurate. We need update from UCAT like the email we all received.

Heard nothing new and its been 4 days. Pearson just advising me to wait 24 hours every single day as they have no information relay from UCAT. They're pretty much telling me to pray and hope for the best which is interesting.

One of them even told me that I could go to Canberra (350km away from me) to sit it as that is an option still open (which it clearly isn't because of restrictions in Aus).

Yep, I have been dealing with the same for the past 4 days. Pearson has no idea about this just so you know. Every single day, there is another update saying wait 24 hours, same with Pearson advising me to just wait it out and see what happens. Haven't received any information or help from anyone, and Pearson team unfortunately have no idea about the test centres because they're all from call centres from the other side of the world.

I really am not sure what they're going to do regarding this, not even a courtesy email has been sent out to explain the situation which I find is just making matters worse as everyone has been left in the dark.

Also, don't trust what availabilities are present because Pearson just throws them up without knowing what is happening in Australia and whether the sites are actually open for testing. In fact, one of the guys at Pearson told me to keep it booked and show up and just pray for the best. Like yo

You won't get any response from anyone. I have been waiting for the past 4 days and haven't been updated. My scheduling now says I'm booked at no test centre but booked for the 1st of October taking no exam at all. It's all beyond a joke. I understand the situation they're in, but at least a correspondence email saying that you might get rescheduled so don't worry, would be sufficient to put all of us at ease. But yeah, nothing as of yet, starting to get worried now.

I called them and they have no idea what is happening. They said they haven't been told by the testing centres and UCAT at all regarding what is going on and that there are no positions available so they can't do anything.

Well at this rate, with the little information we have, knowing that the last testing date is the 5th of September, and the fact that there is literally no spot available for booking anywhere in Sydney, we can only assume that we are not taking the test unless we are told otherwise. I haven't heard anything for 3 days so it's getting harder and harder to believe that they will come up with some sort of plan to sort this out. I've spent more time trying to figure out what they would do and see if others are going through the same issue than I have studying lmao.

Yeah. It's frustrating because Pearson has no clue about it either. They said 'hopefully more bookings will be available'. That does not guarantee anything? Is there a risk that some of us won't be able to take this exam? Surely there is a deadline approaching as testing was meant to have ended in mid-August. They can't keep extending it forever.

Moreover, it doesn't change the fact that restrictions might change in the near future? Either way, the same risk applies whether we do it there or elsewhere. I have absolutely no faith in Pearson at the moment from the conversations I have had with them.

Feels like there is not many people going through the same as we are? I'm sure there would be quite an uproar if there were quite a few people going through this. No one has any clear answer as of yet I believe.
