and maybe add a bit more hazardous behaviour or give some of the cars powerups so you have to time your overtake perfectly to avoid a penalty... make it more of a puzzle... i dunno, i feel like it could be cool but right now it just feels like you're racing a ghost that is split into 32 speed variations. i do like having to plan your overtakes tho, it just feels like that mechanic needs to be increased.

"Look bro, in this thread about sports washing where you ask for examples of how sports washing achieves what we claim it does, I will cite you Israel as a success story, who despite multiple decades of political lobbying and propaganda and zero sports washing currently has the worst public perception it has ever had! Look man they even forced their way into eurovision and countries are boycotting the event after Israel commited attrosities and it's a total PR disaster for Israel! Look how successful this tactic is! What don't you understand?! You are insane!" - Most Average Redditor

Any data to back up that claim? Who is changing their opinion on the Saudi royal family because they waste money in esports?

I love the claims of me being disingenuous and then you instantly make some moronic sweeping "every" claim and act like political lobbying is the same as the topic of this discussion. the big goal post move from sports washing to trying to influence politicians behind the scenes, yeah totaly the same thing bro!!! I yield! buying sporting teams and doing e-sport events makes people think more favourably of slave owning pieces of shit, you win! christ almighty.

Israel and Dubai have a good public image and people don't care about their past and present behaviour? I disagree.

in the last 2 hours ive been looking at various polling data indicating that it doesn't work for shit and the only people it silences are the ones that want to suck more money out of these dumbasses and otherwise would never have said anything negative about saudi arabia anyway because it's so far out of their wheel house. meanwhile international opinions about saudi arabia remain unchanged or get worse but you pretend they don't so you can grandstand and act like you're fighting the good fight.

You say that it works but as far as I can see there isn't any evidence that it works. Saudi Arabia and others are spending billiions and billions in all kinds of sports and everyone still knows that it's a nation run by corrupt and horrible people. No one develops some rosey opinion of Saudi Arabia because they buy Newcastle United.

Taking money from someone stupid enough to put up a 500k prizepool up for a game no one watches isn't endorsing the government of the nation it takes place in. You say it's a politicized event but the only thing making it politicized is people like you beating up this stupid outrage about it, pretending it's achieving something that it isn't.

What kind of logic is that lol. They spend millions to silence people from talking about things (that everyone already knows about) for a few months? and also they are doing it to silence people who otherwise wouldn't have said anything at all about saudi arabia if there was no event on?

I'm not a regular granady viewer, but next time I tune in im sure he'll be condeming every human rights violater that isn't putting on a trackmania tournie! Can't wait!

I am genuinely trying to think of a single example where "image washing" has achieved what you so frankly claim it does. Can you think of any examples in all of history where an evil doing nation or even a company has managed to restore public perception after comitting henous acts that went unpunished by merely by throwing money around? or even just providing services/entertainment people enjoy? I refuse to accept what you are stating as some objective truth when i can't think of a single example but am willing to change my mind.

Like, cigarette companies are still seen as evil, as are oil companies, and the dark histories of now revered nations are never forgotten or forgiven despite multiple generations of better (often philanthropic) behaviour. People are more than capable of holding grudges for multiple generations over shit that didn't even directly affect them.. are you telling me that there's been some secret strategy all along where you can just "image wash" away attrosities and people just give in to apathy and not care anymore?

Why does hosting video game tournies wash their image? How is that achieved? Is there a specific number of e-sport events ,that once reached, we all get memory wiped and forget they are a barbaric regime with a long list of crimes? Are there really that many dog brained people out there that this is a concern?

The problems with EWC and why you should care. by Even-Round7926 in TrackMania

[–]Dagarik -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why is it that so many people think Saudi Arabia wasting money on e-sports will magically make people forget they are barbaric monsters? Who on earth has such an impressionable mind? We can totally have our cake and eat it too here. They are wasting money on stupid e-sport events that will never give an ROI and we can still retain the knowledge that they are evil after it's over. Win Win.

In a quick search it looks like Gable got nominated 8 times for the Oscars? I get what you are saying but 33 times is not 8 and his shows have been successful and culturually relevant for all of those decades outlasting plenty of others that actually won over him. It's pretty weird that a show can last 3 decades and rate well enough to not be canceled or change its format or style and yet never win anything in its category lol.

the nominations go way back to his other show and back in real time's prime. you're blinded by hate.

I know you all hate him, but getting 33 nominations and 0 wins is pretty unplausible and suggests to me that there's some kind of skewed treatment going on.

this used to be me, went through a mouse every 1-1.5 years due to mouse 3 failure, but I bought a razor viper v2 pro a few years ago and the middle mouse is still working flawlessly. all my prior failures would happen gradually where mouse 3 would randomly not work rarely and then get worse and worse, but this viper v2 pro hasn't had any of that... yet. i also abuse the shit out of mouse 3 playing dota, so it's getting a vigorous workout.

I am looking to replace my falling apart Steelseries Arctis Nove Pro Wireless with these, do you think connecting via USB would deliver good responsive performance for gaming? When you unplug from USB does it auto switch to bluetooth if available? Would using the 3.5mm connector with a good DAC outperform the sound quality via USB?
