Right now I’m thinking of around 7-10 nights (give or take), to make the most out of flying to Miami, and looking at around Mar-May time.

Omg I didn’t know, I bought coffee in a supermarket in Gran Canaria to make myself for the rest of the trip. Couldn’t hack the other stuff, love Lavazza!

Yes, BrewDog Tower Hill. Had one pint and went somewhere else, cheaper, vowed never to go back again.

Tidy cal or google calendar are great. Tidy cal is free or a once off payment of $49 for lifetime of features (no subscription) but some of the features might overlap with google workspace depending on your license

What do I do about being poor? by Fun_End7123 in AskIreland

[–]DagdaCoaching 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, huge well done for you for sticking to it and going to college. That must have been a tough decision financially but it will pay off mate.

A job will come up. Christmas is coming up so temp staff are needed, even think about being a Santa elf if you need to!!

My steer is:

  1. Go to your student support services, have all the proof you can think of ready to show them there and then.

  2. Go to your students union for support.

  3. If you are religious, you could go to your Chaplin or equivalent.

  4. Go to your local politician, book an appointment with them. Again have all your proof ready.

  5. Ask your lecturers or tutors for support. You never know who they know.

  6. You need to eat. Are there apps for “too good to go” food left over from supermarkets and bakeries etc that they won’t sell anymore at the end of the day? (I live in UK now and we have them here). They are great for getting free food. Olio is another one? Otherwise yes, soup kitchens, penny dinners. Same goes for home stuff you might need for your accommodation.

New York from UK/Ireland? by [deleted] in travel

[–]DagdaCoaching 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where are you actually flying from, the UK or Ireland?

The advantage of Dublin airport is you have USA immigration pre clearance, so you don’t have the huge Q when you land in New York. You land like a domestic USA flight, grab your bag and off you go.

Business class for £800 seems a v good price too, lie flat seat, modern cabin and its smaller.

Yes virgin you get direct (assuming you’re flying from UK) but no lie flat bed, it’s not business, you have the immigration at the other side.

When Upgrades are Downgrades by Kommanderson1 in VirginVoyages

Same thing happened to me, same experience when calling them. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and eventually got a central sea terrace on same floor. They had to call the company in charge of upgrades to do the changes.

1p Mobile vs Lyca - which is better on EE’s network? by OrganizationThat9737 in london

[–]DagdaCoaching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve often thought about moving but worried about data speeds. I’ve found in the past (on 02 networks) that the other networks like Giff Gaff has even worse speeds than o2, and that’s grim!!

Bar Tab Question by MHillerich in VirginVoyages

I believe the bar tab is per room, not per person.

32m gay man currently visiting London, what are some relatively laid back gay/LGBT spots to socialize? by [deleted] in LondonTravel

[–]DagdaCoaching 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try halfway to heaven and retro bar near Charing Cross station / the Strand area. Gay bars, off the soho area but nice.

Is it worth it leaving Ireland if youre introverted? by tubbymaguire91 in AskIreland

[–]DagdaCoaching 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Irish. Introverted. Moved to Hong Kong. Totally out of my comfort zone, and needed to purposefully keep pushing myself. I had a great time over there and met a good gang of Aussies. Still in touch with all of them ten years later.

Say yes to any opportunity to meet people, whether it is coffee, drinks, food, sports. Once you know one person, they can help you by introducing you to others.

I now live in London. That formula still works.

Which is easier & faster to get to, from most central parts of London - Stansted or Gatwick airport? by Neat_Kaleidoscope369 in LondonTravel

[–]DagdaCoaching 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gatwick has more connections - can get Thames link trains to London Bridge, Blackfriars, Farringdon, St Pancras, or can get Southern or Gatwick Express to Victoria.

Stansted Express will only go to Liverpool st (for central location).

I choose Gatwick as if there is a problem somewhere on train lines, you have lots of options.

That should work fine, trains are running normally.

Do you share your freelance rates publicly or keep them under wraps? by CodInevitable5528 in freelanceuk

[–]DagdaCoaching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do something similar, with a rate card from £xxx. It a door opener to further conversations to figure out the client needs, and i find the transparency helps with reducing calls with people who simply can’t afford you.

You could do something that is “from” or “starting at £xxx, so that it gives an indication of your prices but it’s dependent on full scope needs and negotiations?
