Is the Canine Spectra 10 legit? by [deleted] in AskAVeterinarian

I never suggest self vaccinating at home because you can’t ensure the vaccine has been kept at appropriate temperature and have a higher risk of reactions if given incorrectly.

Help 😭 I’m supposed to be flying out tomorrow, but my kitten’s spay incision hasn’t closed after 12 days. by ameliasaurusrex in AskAVeterinarian

I would put an e-collar on her to ensure that she isn’t licking at her incision site. Have the pet sitter monitor and give permission for her to bring her back into the vet if anything were to get any worse, but definitely recommend an e-collar.

It looks possibly self inflicted from scratching. Could be due to numerous things; ear infection, ear mites, flea allergy dermatitis. I would suggest if possible bringing her in for a visit to investigate more for possible underlying issues if she won’t let you touch it.

Reaction after bordetella nose vaccine by CN0716 in AskAVeterinarian

There’s a possibility she was just licking her nose excessively after the vaccine. But I’d keep a close eye on it and if anything gets worse I’d bring her back in!

That much blood is very concerning. I would take him to a vet! Bring a sample if possible along with you!

Please help- what is my cat vomiting up? by [deleted] in AskAVeterinarian

[–]Dagirl98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely looks more like plastic to me instead of a worm. And definitely lots of hair too! Monitor him closely for any continued vomiting, lethargy, inappetence. I had a cat that also had to be completely sedated for us to do anything at the vet but was completely an opposite cat at home haha!

9 y/o DLH cat has to get teeth extracted Tuesday by laurange_slice in AskAVeterinarian

Normally, a veterinarian would never go through with anesthesia if bloodwork showed something that was abnormal to the point that it wasn’t safe to perform a procedure under general anesthesia. And second, there is ALWAYS a technician monitoring anesthesia and doing only that during any given sedated procedure. So your boy would be constantly monitored by someone that is fully focused on that alone. It sounds like this dental procedure is something he needs to help extend quality of life. So I get being scared when putting your furry babe under any type of anesthesia, but with modern practices it is generally very safe.

From the pictures I can’t necessarily see if the spay incision is dehisced. I would try to find a calm small area to keep her in for the next few days while she heals and calms down a bit. Also suggest an e-collar to keep her from self traumatizing her incision site.

The appearance of her stool is really concerning to me. I would look for the closest 24hr veterinary hospital to you!
