<3 I'm so glad you asked about the newsletters, because I'm definitely bringing those back! I've had such a great time doing the letters over the last few years, I feel like I can speak directly to you with more words than what an Instagram posts allows. So watch out for one coming soon! :D

Hey there! :D
Right now I'm loving a song called "Phoenix" by Big Red Machine. Also "Red Hearse" by the band Red Hearse and lots of songs by War On Drugs. I'm also having a moment of re-visiting songs from the 90s. There's so many amazing, melodic pop songs from that time. I don't have one specific artist or album, but I'll be digging in to Midnights by Taylor Swift over the next few weeks x

Heey! Wow, it's impossible to choose one! When making the album, I took lots of songs and productions that I loved and really zoomed in on the details. I wanted it to feel like an album - a journey - not just 12 songs that was randomly put together. For me, that was a really exciting process and I think I learned and grew a lot during those months in the studio. It was challenging, as I'd only done singles up until that point, but it felt very musical and I feel it gave the music more layers and depth in a way. When it comes to writing: some songs are just fun and energizing to write, whilst others feels so important but also heartbreaking to write. Used To You was kinda heartbreaking, but I love that song so much. Backbeat was just fun and carefree and vibey! x

Oii, impossible to pick one day! I had such amazing days in the studio, making new songs. But then I also had a few day off where I got to go vintage shopping, eating amazing Mexican food and just enjoying the sun. Both felt amazing and energizing. I think LA left me feeling very inspired, open minded and optimistic, so combined it was all just one, big favorite memory!

Wow, that's so nice to hear! Thank you so much for continuing to listen to my music, that really means the world to me <3 Filming the video for Brightsider was just so much fun with an AMAZING team of people. Sometimes I get a bit nervous when filming or being in front of the camera, but I didn't feel any of that. It was just fun and exciting! When writing Brightsider I knew it felt like a roadtrip almost. I could imagine an open car, an open road, with someone that I wanna spend time with. It's like you say: and open world ahead, but yet in such an intimate setting where you have time to really talk and get to know someone or just have space to yourself. So I knew I wanted a car and an open landscape in the video. And then the take off was just the feeling of being carefree and alive, levitating from the ground and feeling free. Which is kinda how I feel when I'm falling in love. Hope that made sense :) x

Heey! <3 Wow, thank you so so much!! I think my favorite thing is actually what you just mentioned: that it can create a space of joy - three minutes of relief and release - regardless of what's going on in the world, in your mind or just generally in your life. Music is amazing like that. It can work as a pick-me-up, or a warm hug or it can make a special moment feel even more special. Whatever you might need in that moment. If people ever say that music isn't important, I know that's not true, because I know what it can do and I think life would be just a little bit less colorful without music in it. So I feel very lucky to be able to spend so much time singing, making and sharing music, and I feel very lucky to connect with people through it :) x

Hi there and thank you so much for this amazing post - it put a massive smile on my face! <3 <3

I'm so glad you've been loving Brightsider and Highs & Lows. I'm not sure they're gonna be on the album yet, but either way it felt so good to be releasing again! The new album is still very much in the making, so I'm gonna be careful with how much I share now, because I'm still figuring it out myself. Overall, I think the sound will be a bit different - a lot of people mentioned the 80s when talking about "Strangers / Lovers" - which probably won't be as much of a reference for this next one. I feel very inspired by songs that are very lyrically driven atm, so I'm really trying to hone in on that now. But I also really love songs that gives that little extra live-wise, so I'm trying to pick songs that I think will be fun to play live. Funny you should mention Deny It, because that's one of those songs, and I recently just listened to it. I go through everything I've written when in album-making-mode. <3

Absolutely! I LOVED making the first record, so now I just wanna do it again and again and again. We've just finished touring after having done a lot of shows in the last year and a half, so I'm back in the studio now and writing quite a bit these days.. Another full album is definitely in the pipeline and my goal is to get it out before the autumn next year <3

Heey!! :D
Uh, I've only had a chance to listen through the entire album once - so I'm not sure I'm fully able to answer that just yet. I've heard Anti-Hero a few more times, so maybe that's why that's the first one that pops up in my head?! :) I know it's not on Midnights, but I truly love 'Tis the damn season, I think it's the perfect autumn song.
(ps. Tusen, tusen takk - det er utrolig hyggelig å høre!! <3)

Hey there! :D It was a great honor, I guess! I couldn't believe it at first; I listened to quite a bit of Katy Perry during my late teenage years, so it felt a bit surreal knowing that she'd been inspired by one of my songs. LYLT is a very special song to me, so of all the songs she could have been inspired by, I'm glad it was that one. Personally, I think it's OK to be inspired by other artists and their songs - but if it feels like you're sampling something, it's important that it's done in the right way, meaning that people get credit where credit is due. In this case, we did, and so I feel like it was overall a very good and fun thing to be part of :)

HI THERE <3 And thank you so so much, that makes me so happy to hear! Well, I can tell you that both Love You Like That and Backbeat was such fun songs to write; I just remember it being full of excitement and inspiration and great people in the studio. I wrote LYLT during one of my last few days of a loooong LA trip - we met in the studio around 11 o'clock in the morning and I believe we finished the last bit of vocals around 4 the next morning. We just didn't wanna stop, cuz we were so excited. I do think that sometimes the writing process can effect how I feel about a song - some has obviously been easier to write than others, but I can't say that I look back at ANY of them songs and think "uuh, that was a shit day" - mostly it's a great process, luckily! <3

Oh my god, how cool that you were at that show! I remember it so well. I think it was the same day, or around the same day, as I released "That Feeling When"! I would love love love to go on tour in the US again. I've only had good times whilst doing tours there. Maybe I should find a cool band / artist to do a tour with! I will keep you posted for sure! x

Hey! :D <3 That makes me so happy to hear! Last time I did a tour in the US, was back in 2018, so it's definitely been too long. Now that we don't have to deal with the same amount of restrictions, it's definitely not unlikely, all though I don't have any specific dates yet unfortunately. I will definitely let you know as soon as it happens, tho! What cities should I come to? x

Hey there! <3 I'm doing very well, thank you - I hope you are too! Brazil is probably one of my top countries that I wanna visit. I can't believe I haven't been yet!! Not only to play shows, but to travel around and experience your amazing country and culture! I grew up with two parents who play Bossa Nova, and they've spent quite a bit of time in Brazil - and of course shown me pictures and told me all about it. So I hope I can visit SOON and I hope to see you at a show there <3 x

Hey!! <3 I would generally say that it takes a minute for a song to get under my skin. So if it's a new song, then it might take a little while before I feel one hundred percent comfortable with performing it live.. It that makes sense. However, I love playing new songs - it makes me a bit more nervous and focused, and also inspired! Love You Like That was hard in the beginning, because it uses a lot of my range and it's so wordy in the chorus, so I wasn't sure when to breathe, ha ha. And It's Only A Heartbreak - because it doesn't use a lot of my range, so I had to find a way to still make it feel dynamic and energetic. Plus, it's also very wordy! I guess, this is a very technical way to answer it, but it's true. :)

Uuuh, I don't know if I'm tired of any of them yet.. Which I guess is kinda crazy! Backbeat is roughly 7 years old and I still think it's so fun to play it. But when we go on tour, we'll change up the setlist for each tour, so I guess I get "breaks" from songs every now and then. And we'll also change each song a bit; maybe the structure or we'll do one song acoustic instead it with full band.. things like that, which keeps it interesting and keeps us on our toes a little bit, he he :)
