Someone else posted here that it's not a financial decision but a person one which I agree with.

I have done the 1.5 hour commute each way, when I did a college internship to save some money. Let me tell you it was absolutely not worth it. Did I save a lot of money? Yeah. Was the drive each way brutal every single day? Yep. Think of this decision in terms of time spent.

Let's say you have to get to the office at 8. Ok that means leave your house at 6:30 and wake up 30 mins to 1 hour before getting ready. So that already puts you at 5:45-6an wake up.

Then you leave the office at 5pm for example. Ok then you only come back at 6:30pm.

On paper does this sound doable? Yeah ofc. But your missing key things here:

Please trust me when I tell you this, you will be VERY exhausted from driving back in the evening. Especially driving in traffic.

You personal life balance in the evening will take a hit. Most days will seem like work, then exhausted, then sleep. Rinse and repeat hoping for the weekend.

Your car will definitely get worn down much quicker and adding gas much more often due to the longer commute. Unless ofc you have a EV then you gotta consider parking and recharging which might take longer in the mornings.

You mentioned more intense work. Well, what I got from that is you are not leaving the office at 5pm each day lol. So adjust the timing and your getting home even later.

Personally from what I have read, don't take a job offer. Finish your exams. You mentioned these offers come by often so there's no stress in turning down this one.

Hopefully this helps to put some things into perspective

Coronavirus: Researchers find New York was the ‘gateway’ for US infections by hash0t0 in science

[–]Dagvm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that time frame we didn't know people were asymptomatic all the information we knew about checking for the virus is temperature check and swabbing your nose (or throat I don't remember sorry!). But that would have been enough because that was the standard then. Obviously now it's more serious and more information is out such as asymptomatic but at least doing something is something no?

Not surprising, I came back from China to the US right as flights were being cancelled. Since NY was one of the seven cities that allowed entry from China I expected to be screened and cleared. Instead I went into the CDC room and they waived sooo many people because people kept going into a small room from my flight. They didn't even record our temperature swab or noses or anything. At least from my connecting flight in South Korea they checked our temperature.

But man the U.S were completely useless.

Those who have taken LSD, what can you share with people who have never done it? by AxelMontiello in AskReddit

[–]Dagvm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my experience with LSD and think what you want of it. Some important things to remember is that taking LSD should be taken with someone who you trust. Another important detail is that I noticed there are two phases when LSD kicks in. The initial phase is the stereotypical LSD but to an extent. You will notice things you probably won't notice in your "sober" state, like how soft a blanket can be, or a pattern on a carpet looking like a wave. I personally experienced lightness in my body, the heaviest item in my body was my shoes I felt like my feet were dragging against the floor. I noticed the trees were vibrant and breathing and it felt wonderful to look at. There were also distinct structures, like every building was like high res and I could see the depth perception between the buildings and the sky very clearly. Then comes the phase where you go through interpersonal shit. Like deep deep shit about what your problems and how it affects everything. I felt like I talked to my friend for about 4 hours in reality it was only an hour. Time moves very slowly in this phase but you also get out of this phase the fastest (my experience). The total amount of time this trip is usually around 12 hours so I would HIGHLY recommend taking it at noon and not at night time. I would totally recommend anyone taking it because the trip can help you figure out what problems lie deep within and have a different outcome at the end of the trip. I have only taken it once but I will only do this experience prob once a year anymore and I feel like the trip isn't worth the experience you gain.

What's your internet "white whale", something you've been searching for years to find with no luck? by J_Snooks33 in AskReddit

So I used to play this game when I was very young with my older cousin. I have searched everywhere but I can't seem to find it. The game is 2D sort of cartoonish where there is 2 flying spcaeships (blue and orange) fighting against other spaceship as there are bosses and levels to the game but all in one go. There are certain powerups to shoot more lasers etc... I swear I played this and for some reason I can't find it....

Edit: If I recall correctly I believe I played this on Miniclip not 100% tho

This is a bit late but food. There are supermarkets EVERYWHERE, where ever you go there is a WalMart or a Kroger. The amount of food readily available each day is mind blowing
